Updates: “My Mother My Self” Responds

updatesIt’s time again for “Dear Wendy Updates,” a feature where people I’ve given advice to in the past let us know whether they followed the advice and how they’re doing now. Today we hear from “My Mother My Self” who was pregnant again after suffering a traumatic stillbirth and who worried about how to mother a little girl since her own mother was no longer alive to give her advice and help. Her heartwarming update below.

I wrote you once after a traumatic stillbirth and another time after becoming pregnant again when I worried how to be a good mom to my daughter without my own mother. The advice you gave me helped me through some very dark and difficult times and I am eternally grateful. I was able to find peace and enjoy the rest of my pregnancy.

My pregnancy was not an easy one, but on November 4th I welcomed my beautiful daughter at 38 weeks. She was 7 pounds, 5 ounces, and 20 inches long and perfectly healthy. She has been fussy and colicky and I’m completely blessed.

I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful advice. It has meant so much to me, and I will never forget your kindness. I hope you have a great holiday season and new year.

I could not be happier for you! Congratulations to you and your whole family, and happy holidays!
