Thanks Cleo!! I love the Ancaster Mill! Are you hoping to go if this all works out? How many people is she planning for? I’m optimistic for the fall. I’m just so tired of all of this though especially with the third wave. Hope we can all pull through.

Congrats ver!! Hope she can come home soon.

In also dating adjacent stories, we have booked our wedding for June 2022! Hopefully it’ll be basically a normal wedding then and my overseas family can come. But of course, who knows. We’ve also basically booked all our vendors too because I was a bit nervous with all the postponements that they might get booked up. So now we/I need a break. I am definitely happy I chose my guy. We’ve been planning this wedding jointly. He’s made some good Excel sheets. He’s on all the calls (except hair and makeup and flowers). I wouldn’t want to plan this by myself.

I’m sorry for your loss @ktfran and to hear about your niece. I hope she can get the help she needs.

I do feel like this sometimes reading this forum LOL. I kid, I am really happy many of you are getting vaccinated. I hope Canada is not too far behind…

I hear you Cookie!! Our numbers are great—- as in they are the same as in November before we peaked. I hope people don’t let their guard down. I don’t know what’s going on with the vaccinations but it’s so frustrating hearing about the delays. I hope September is still accurate.

Our province is opening back up. Our daily case numbers are about 950 cases a day which is great. I know small businesses are struggling. But I am nervous about the variant and a third wave in April. Also Canada’s vaccination rate is pitiful. We are SO close.

Are you all wearing surgical masks now?

    Wow, homemade pasta, MJ!!

We got takeout dinner from a nicer restaurant. I got French onion soup. They put the bread and broiled cheese in a separate container from the hot soup and it was so good! We exchanged cards today.

Yeah, I remember when skinny jeans came into style in the mid 2000s and thought it was so weird, but now I don’t really know what else to wear. I have some straight jeans too. I’m really not sure if I could ever pull off mom jeans. Also I like my side part!!

I hope you have a strong recovery @TheLadyE.

I know we are all pretty risk averse here. Guess that’s why I’m posting for support. I don’t want to be morally superior and judgmental. My sister is letting my mon visit today because my mom misses my niece. The numbers are down around here, about 50 new cases a day. My mom wants me to go to her place this weekend for Chinese New Year preparations. I wouldn’t say she’s using my sister as an example but when I told her I wasn’t sure about going over, she responded that she’s going over. The numbers really are way down. I just can’t wrap my head around visiting during this COVID time still. We would wear masks, but this seems “unnecessary”. Sigh.

That would be awesome, Copa! I think we are friends on My Fitness Pal. Could I message you there?

Dang I have not thought about getting the higher grade masks at all. Maybe I should get some too.

@Copa, what is your job exactly? If it’s too private for forum I understand. I’m a lawyer and am curious about your law adjacent job.

My brother in healthcare got both shots. Very grateful. Here the focus is on LTC and frontline workers which I totally get. I hope my parents will be able to get vaccine soon.

Ugh that sucks Kate. Is your building manager helpful or are you on your own?

I’m so sorry Copa. That sucks. I do hope your boyfriend can see his friend in person.

Wow, that is a wake up call, Kate. A guy I went to university with posted on Facebook that last year while he was driving he had a seizure. Thankfully he didn’t hurt anyone or himself. Turned out he had a brain tumour. Due to COVID the procedures were delayed so finally they were able to remove the tumour last week.

Oh no, I’m sorry, Kate!! I’m glad insurance will cover it but that is so disturbing especially during this time.

I’m guessing you are in Ontario with the Boxing Day “lockdown”. I’m in Ontario too and I’m glad the numbers are coming down but we are still in the clear.

I’m sorry. This is tough. I don’t think you can stop your in laws from seeing their kids and other grand kids. Your BIL and SIL — they are your husband’s siblings? Can he ask them to wear masks? I just couldn’t even think of eating lunch with my parents right now. Are your BIL and SIL mainly working from home? All we can do is hope. The risk is still low, compared to the States. It’s the best you can do, I think.
