(Labor Day, Brooklyn Bridge Park)
Happy Friday! This was such an eventful week in the Condellberry household — Jackson’s first day of kindergarten, my 40th birthday, and Joanie finally pooped, too — and I am both emotionally drained and totally uplifted. Thank you for all your birthday wishes and sweet messages you sent. They all meant so much.
This weekend Jackson’s going to a birthday party at Coney Island which I think he’s been more excited about than starting school, and Drew and I are going to have a belated 40th birthday dinner at a new restaurant in our neighborhood. I’m hoping this most recent heat wave breaks and I can enjoy some outdoor time, too — maybe with a jog and/or a bike ride and my usual Saturday morning visit to the farmers’ market. (As I write this, it’s 9 am and already in the mid-80s, it’s heading to a heat index of upper 90s, and all I want to do is hole up in the AC all day, I’m so over this muggy heat. I remember when my birthday and back-to-school time used to start in the fall and now it’s summer til, like, the first week of October. But I digress). What are your weekend plans?
