Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! And happy (almost) new year to our Jewish friends. Posting will be light next week as we are taking advantage of all the days off at NYC public schools and heading to Missouri to celebrate Jackson’s fifth birthday with the grands. Here’s a picture of a ginger apple honey cake I made last Rosh Hosanna. It was delicious. I may try to replicate it this year. Maybe you want to, too. Here’s the recipe.

Happy weekend! I started things off right by going to lunch with some coworkers, and we all decided to get ice cream/cookie sandwiches from Cream while we were out. Tomorrow I’m going to a wedding in the afternoon, and then I have to rush back to meet my book club friends for a birthday dinner at a cool restaurant. Sunday is my birthday, and my sister and her fam were going to drive down to my parents’ place, but she’s 5 months pregnant and has been working 50 hour weeks lately and decided to cancel because she’s exhausted (understandably!). So, I’ll be going to dinner at my parents’ place, and it’ll be nice to hang with them! And get leftovers. 😀

Have a sweet new year! I’m on vacation (only beach vacation this summer, I’m taking it all in) and it’s wonderful and relaxing. It’s beautiful weather and me and Bassanio are having a lovely time. Plus we have been chowing down on the most delicious oranges! Mmmmm… At least we won’t get scurvy?
.
Happy weekend everyone!
