Weekend Open Thread

A few weekends ago, when we were all quarantined with pink eye and it was, like, 23 degrees outside, and DT had just been inaugurated and signed his first horrible executive order, essentially banning Muslims from entering our country, and everything seemed so bleak and depressing, Drew and I booked a short trip to Austin, Texas (where the mural above lives) for two nights to help perk/warm us up. We’re going sans kids! It will be our first flight together without any children in almost six years, and tomorrow is the big day. I’m so excited! I’m even looking forward to the commute — no strollers, no car seats, no changing dirty diapers in a bathroom lavatory the size of a postage stamp. I can’t wait!
