We had our march outside the US embassy in Tel Aviv today because tomorrow is Shabbat. Three students from Stoneman Douglas HS happened to be here for spring break and they spoke. Was powerful and heartbreaking and inspiring, just as you’d probably imagine.

I’m marching in Boston with my parents.

I’ve also been sending money, through actblue, to democratic candidates in close special elections, like Connor Lamb. My dad was like, “years from now, you want to be able to look back and say, ‘what did *I do*?’” Since I live in MA, calling congresspeople isn’t that constructive, though I’ve done that too.

That’s great. I’ve been donating to demorcatic candidates in close special elections, too, for the same reason. It’s nice to be able to do *something*. I pretty much gave up calling my local reps very often bc I was basically just saying “thank you” over and over.

Oh, also wanted to add – I do not march, rally, or go to parades, and I stay away from crowds because of a bad experience years ago. But I will go to this one because damn, those kids are seriously amazing.

So I’m a blonde but my natural shade looks dark and drab when it starts to grow out a few weeks after I get highlights. I haven’t gone gray yet but of course there’s the odd gray hair.

This stuff is a powder, not a spray, and it’s in a compact with a small brush. That means you can be precise with it and mimic the look of highlights, or cover your grays, or just fill in your whole part. If your hair is thinning, it would camouflage that as well.

My hairdresser recommended the lightest blonde, to match my highlight color. She showed me how to brush it on where it comes in dark, and it’s awesome. It also lasts from shampoo to shampoo, so I could do it once after a blow-dry and not have to again for 5 days. I think it will extend the time between appointments too.

She also mentioned to me that the spray products you can buy to cover gray are full of alcohol, which opens the cuticle, and then the product actually changes the color of your hair. Then that messes up your next dye job because the regrowth doesn’t take the color the same. It could look orange! She told her clients to stop using it. She does tolerate my mom coloring her own roots with, I think, Nice & Easy root color, but only because she uses exactly the shade she tells her to.

Anyway! Really excited about this, haha.

I did not march today, because I on my own with my kids today and that would have been a shitshow and scary for them, I think.

I am SO PROUD of the Stoneman Douglas crew and what they have done to push this movement forward. I have hope for the future again. I really hope they can inspire their peers, all over the country, to VOTE in all upcoming elections and vote the NRA stooges out of office, once and for all.
