Happy first weekend of the decade. Do you have any plans? We’ll be taking down our Christmas tree and storing away the holiday stuff for the next 11 months, which I’m always almost as excited to do as taking them out again in early December. The rest of the weekend will probably be spent planning and cooking vegetable-forward meals, filling in my calendar with important dates, avoiding alcohol, and organizing all the closets in the house because it’s a new year and I’m feeling so fucking virtuous. Just kidding, I’ll probably have a drink. (Also, I basically organize the closets on a monthly basis because I’m a Virgo and it gives me joy, or at least some calming sense of control, in a life where so much is out of my control.)

For my fellow 40-something women: Wondering if you have perimenopause symptoms? So is your doctor, because it’s largely unstudied
And, maybe to help with said symptoms, just a little bit: this weighted blanket that I kept borrowing from my son in the days after we gifted it to him for Christmas, so that I bought one for myself. We both love it!
