Awww…you made me just think of the cat my husband and I used to have – she would sit on the side of the sink, and I’d turn the water on for her to play in (swipe at it).
Is that what your cat is doing, or waiting to do?

the expression is priceless. you should let him know that washing your paws after going to the bathroom is recommended and most cats are not as considerate and well mannered enough to comply.
