“Wendy’s Picks,” is a feature in which I highlight stuff I like or recommend in the worlds of fashion, gift ideas, home decor, makeup, websites, entertainment, and recipes. Of course, many of the things I link to will be affiliate products, which means I’ll receive a commission on any click-throughs or purchases you make through the affiliate links. As always, I appreciate your support! Here are my sales picks and favorite recent discoveries:
After Joanie was born, generous family and friends sent gifts (which I totally wasn’t expecting with a second baby) and so we needed some thank you cards to send our appreciation. I found these on Amazon and thought they were so cute. I especially liked the price! There are lots of different patterns, and even a collection of birthday cards, too, which are great to have on hand when you realize a friend or family member’s b-day is coming up and you need to get a card in the mail pronto.
My parents came for a visit last month and my mom gifted us with some new coasters, and everyone who has been over since then has remarked on their good looks. Here are some similar ones I also love (don’t be surprised if you see these again on my holiday gift guide).
Now that I’m no longer pregnant, I’ve been riding my bike again. I mostly bike for exercise and fun, but I also bike occasionally for transportation, usually to and from the grocery store because I’m boring that way. For years, I’ve been using a backpack of Drew’s (that’s kind of dorky, if I’m being honest), but this year for my birthday, which was last week, I decided to live on the wild side and get myself a new backpack. I love it – it’a super roomy, lightweight, functional and the color’s so pretty. I also considered this (which is what all the cool kids have, at least here in Brooklyn) and this and this.
Speaking of birthday gifts and bike riding, Drew gave me this and I love it.
He also gave me a gift certificate to Stitch Fix, which I’m so excited to use as soon as I get back to my pre-baby size which, the way things have been going, will be at the end of 2017. But, honestly, I am SO excited to try Stitch Fix; I’ve been loving the Stitch Fix boards on Pinterest and getting inspired by fall fashion trends. Like: flare jeans (here’s a more budget-friendly pair, and here’s a very budget-friendly pair); fringe! (fringe anywhere, really, but I like fringe handbags, like this one); and tribal-inspired jewelry like this necklace.
Also! My dreams have come true: maternity pants for the non-pregnant (they aren’t marketing them that way, but they totally should)! Use code HAPPY for 40% off.
I haven’t read this book yet, but it looks good and has great reviews and it’s totally apropos to the DW audience, so I’m sharing the link. Maybe time to resurrect the DW book club?
