“Wendy’s Weekly Picks,” is a feature in which I highlight stuff I like or recommend in the worlds of fashion, gift ideas, home decor, makeup, websites, entertainment, and recipes. Of course, much of the stuff I link to will be affiliate products, which means I’ll receive a commission on any click-throughs or purchases you make through the affiliate links. As always, I appreciate your support! Here are my favorite finds this week:
Since I posted a picture of our office/den/guest room on Instagram a few weeks ago, I’ve gotten some questions about our rug. I love our rug! I spent weeks looking for just the right one — I wanted a fun pattern in a vibrant color that was still sophisticated and elegant, and I think I got that with this rug. Plus, it’s good quality and it was reasonably-priced. I just ordered a runner rug from the same brand for our hallway and I’m hoping I like it just as well!
This dress from Gap is going straight into my shopping cart for Joanie and I cannot wait to see her in it!
These jeans are hot (and a great price!).
It’s been 2-1/2 years since I bought my leather slip-on sneakers (these Keds) and when I saw these Frye guys on sale at Zulily, I decided to splurge on some replacements. You can’t go wrong with either ones — they’re super comfy, go with everything, and hold up really well with lots of wear — though the Frye ones are a tad more polished looking and you could probably get away with wearing them at work if you have a more casual office. There are only three left at the sale price at Zulily though, so hurry if you’re interested.
I rediscovered my Burt’s Bees carrot night cream a few weeks ago in the depths of my toiletry drawer and I’ve been wearing it every night since (well, every night that I actually wash my face and moisturize. which, let’s be honest, is about 75% of the time…). How did I forget how great this stuff is? In the morning, my skin feels supple and hydrated. I went to order some more and, HORROR!, is has been discontinued. I am so sad. There are still a few jars floating around out there, like on Amazon, where for $348 (not a typo), you can have a 1-ounce jar of the magical stuff. If, like I am, you are disappointed that Burt’s Bees has discontinued this product, let them know here. Maybe if enough of us speak up, they’ll consider bringing it back?
I really don’t need another mug, but I love the matte black mugs that are trendy right now, so I was doing a search for them on Etsy the other day and found this adorable vintage cup from the 50s that so perfectly combines the modern matte black trend with gold accents (maybe a ginkgo pattern?). I don’t need it, but I sure do like it.
