It’s spring, finally! To celebrate, I nabbed this cute purse during a sale at Anthropologie last week. (That sale is over, but the purse is still marked down.) Maybe I should have gotten a circle bag, but they’re a hot trend right now. See:
and, come on, this!
In addition to my new purse, I also bought these sneakers — because bags and sneakers don’t care that you may or may not have gained seven pounds over the winter — and I am impatiently waiting for their arrival in the mail so I can wear them every day.
The dawn of Spring means more sunshine, and more sunshine might mean the need for new sunglasses. For the last couple years, I’ve liked Kate Spade shades (these are my go-tos), and, lately, the bigger the better (these are fun!).
That image above is my tiny half bath (or “powder room,” if you prefer). It’s literally smaller than an airplane lavatory (or “7th circle of hell,” if you prefer), so to brighten it up I had this fun wallpaper installed, which I can’t remember if I’ve linked to before or not, but it’s spring and this shit is springy, so there you go. I am also loving that hanging planter I found on etsy. And, boy, am I glad my friend Matt talked me out of the black and gold velvet curtain I wanted to hang in there… (Oh, and by the way, I ordered and installed the window adhesive you see there, which was basically the extent of my DIY-ing, with the exception of designing, that I’ve done in our new place, so I feel the need to point it out and take maximum credit, thank you.)
Oh, and speaking of etsy, I found this boob necklace there (because, you know, I spend hours doing various online searches of boobs), and think it could be a unique Mother’s Day gift for the right kind of woman… (no, not necessarily me, Drew, since I know you always look at these things for gift ideas for me. All I want this year is a bunch of sheet masks and some fancy bath salts that make me think I’m in some mineral bathhouse spa place outside Tokyo).

I desperately want to wallpaper one wall in our dining room, the small wall that has our side board.
I’d love to also wallpaper our guest bathroom but since it’s 10 feet high, has a shower, and is pretty big, I think I’ll stick with the one wall in the dining room.
Love the paper you picked!

I also want to paint our guest bedroom a pale pink.

Oh I would love to be able to paint some room in my house a dusty pale pink/rose. We are making the small room next to our (size of a nursery or office) my closet sort of space. I will have my clothes, obviously, vanity, etc. I cannot wait. I don’t force the overly girly stuff on my husbands space so this will be all mine. My desk/vanity is mirrored rose gold and is so gorgeous.

Fun! I’d love to be able to have a closet/dressing room like that.
Yeah, the rest of our condo is pretty masculine/neutral. I want to make the guest bedroom a little softer. We have a black iron bed and I want to get some more natural colored wood pieces (desk, dresser, etc.) then pair with green-blue lamps. More green though so not turquoise. Can’t think of the color right now. I have a vision and at this point, that’s the only thing that will do.

I love that paper too. It reminds me of the paper we had in our old house except ours had a gold foil background. It was from the seventies and I loved it.
We had a window in there almost exactly like yours except ours had 3 vertical panes. I miss that place!

Haha, my house growing up had a different large pattern of wallpaper in every room, and the LR and DR def had gold foil accents. My parents’ room had birds, and one bathroom had tropical fish!

That sounds awesome! My bathroom when I was growing up had red, white and blue toy soldiers. I don’t know what they were thinking, it was the ugliest ever. I am sure it wasn’t meant for a bathroom. A boys bedroom maybe, but it would probably give the poor kid nightmares.

Wow, toy soldiers. My parents said when they bought the house in 1977 there was black wallpaper with like ultra bright psychedelic patterns.

That purse is EPIC!!

Ya know, I am normally a very boring purse shopper – I buy the same purse in black and brown leather and figure I’m good for the next while. But I love that clutch! I need to find shoes that will look good with it.

So wait…is that a real window or an adhesive that looks like a window….I’ve got baby brain so I’m sure it’s neither haha.
Dear Wendy April 29, 2018, 1:10 pm
It’s a real window, but the bottom panes are covered in a frosted privacy adhesive that I “installed” (i.e. cut and stuck on) myself. I used this:
