Good Luck Everyone: We’re Having A Baby from Andrew Condell on Vimeo.
This is one of my favorite Drew videos, and not just because Simone makes a cameo or because Drew defers all future decision-making to me. It’s because I like the shirt he’s wearing. Just kidding.

Wendy, I just saw the video. I LOVED IT. I know one of the reasons you married Drew: He has got one of the best sense of humor I have ever seen. I am looking at the video, can relate very heavily to what he was saying about the new responsibility, nodding and agreeing with him, while laughing my but-off. Especially when he showed the cat. Congrats again. It is nice to see good things happen to good people.

This is hilarious!!! The entire thing was funny, but my favorite line was:
“I’m not scared of my own baby…I’m scared of myself.”

Hilarious! He’s a smart man to know to listen to his wife 😉
LolaBeans April 20, 2011, 1:15 pm
whatta guy, he must be nervous to be a parent!!!
You guys will do so well! 🙂 I hope he or she is a little red head.. awwww.
Rachel April 20, 2011, 1:27 pm
This is awesome. It does indeed look like Simone has a good head on her shoulders.

LOVED THIS! So so so funny! The whole thing was hilarious but Simone popping up was the best! You can’t tell Drew is excited to be a father! 🙂
Elle April 20, 2011, 12:43 pm
Loved the video! Great sense of humor, Drew!!!
Best parenting advice ever: “Let the baby make up its own mind!”
Bethany April 20, 2011, 2:06 pm
Simone is a very pretty girl!! I’m sure she’s going to make wonderful decisions for the baby 🙂
Loved the video! Very cute!
Drew April 20, 2011, 2:38 pm
Thank you for the kind comments! (Simone says thank you as well.)
Skyblossom April 20, 2011, 3:24 pm
It won’t be that long until the baby is making videos with you and you’re both laughing together with the fun silliness of the whole thing.

That was awesome!!! BTW, Wendy, what was the resolution w/r/t announcing on Facebook? or should I go back and read the comments…?
Wendy April 20, 2011, 4:44 pm
I have not announced it on Facebook, but mostly because it just feels funny to me to announce it on Facebook. I can’t really explain why, but it does. Maybe when I’m closer to my due date I’ll make some kind of mention of it.
I still have yet to tell a couple of friends. I tried calling and they never called back. I figure I have many months to let them know before the baby’s born, and if they find out before I have a chance to tell them personally, it’s not my fault they didn’t call me back! And if they don’t find out til the baby’s born, well, that’s fine, too. The world will keep spinning.
sarita_f April 20, 2011, 11:31 pm
I’d do the same thing. Although I’ve BEEN that friend that just can’t keep it together enough to call back… and I have been chagrined when hearing about news later and realize that it was my own damn fault that I didn’t hear about it from the horse’s mouth.
Also, does Drew have a brother? Or buddy with a similar sense of humor? I can easily visit NYC any time… one of my best friend’s lives in the LES (across from Jill Zarin’s store :)).

Quick Andrew, go to the animal shelter and get a litter of kittens to foster. You only get to keep them for 3-6 weeks and they’re great macro-lesson on what parenting is like. If your lucky Simone will help you raise them. In any case kittens reduce stress and make your heart sing when they nestle in your lap. Being constantly on call is a good analog to what it’ll be like with an infant. The up side is you can make a difference to the character of the little ones thus enhance their being adopted into permanent homes. The big downside is you have to take them back. Take a box of tissues with you. 🙂

that was hilarious! Wendy, i can see why this man is your husband. i hope that he sent this out to all his friends and family to let them know the progress on the little one.
love the cat!
MissDre April 20, 2011, 7:50 pm
OMG I LOVE SIMONE!!!!!!
Jenny April 20, 2011, 8:41 pm
Wendy, Drew is hilarious 🙂 You both have great senses of humor, and just seem like all around good people…that is one lucky baby you’re carrying! I work with kids who aren’t so lucky as to have great parents, so it really warms my heart to see how loved your child will be. Best wishes to you both.

This is amazing. He’s hilarious!
And let’s see more of Simone! Can she be a guest editor one day??? She looks like she could indeed take care of the house decisions.
neuroticbeagle April 21, 2011, 1:45 am
And if Simone isn’t around Miles can make the decisions!
callmehobo April 21, 2011, 8:06 am
I don’t think Miles is quite as level headed as Simone is….
Aleigh April 21, 2011, 7:43 pm
Congrats, you guys! The video made me smile. Drew seems like he has the right temperament to be a daddy. Parenting takes a LOT of humor and you guys have that in spades!
Natalee April 21, 2011, 6:53 pm
Congratulations/Mazel Tov! As someone who has been reading/following you since BEFORE Drew was around, I’m so happy for the both of you! 😀
belongsomewhere April 21, 2011, 11:32 pm
This is fantastic. Drew reminds me of John Cage from Ally McBeal (he was totally the best character). Does he dance to Barry White in the bathroom at work?
Michael Lombardi April 22, 2011, 11:35 am
Congrats if you were planning! HAHA if you weren’t. JUST KIDDING!!! 😛
At some point you will take the kitty to the vet and Drew will be home alone with your baby. He will have to make a decision. It will probably involve calling you on your cell phone, but even if he can’t do that…. I’m sure he’ll do just fine in your absence. 😉
Best of luck to you both–err, 3 since there will be a baby–err, 4 since we shouldn’t forget about Simone.

This was so funny!
“judgmental baby eyes” haha
