Wendy, I just saw the video. I LOVED IT. I know one of the reasons you married Drew: He has got one of the best sense of humor I have ever seen. I am looking at the video, can relate very heavily to what he was saying about the new responsibility, nodding and agreeing with him, while laughing my but-off. Especially when he showed the cat. Congrats again. It is nice to see good things happen to good people.

LOVED THIS! So so so funny! The whole thing was hilarious but Simone popping up was the best! You can’t tell Drew is excited to be a father! 🙂

I have not announced it on Facebook, but mostly because it just feels funny to me to announce it on Facebook. I can’t really explain why, but it does. Maybe when I’m closer to my due date I’ll make some kind of mention of it.
I still have yet to tell a couple of friends. I tried calling and they never called back. I figure I have many months to let them know before the baby’s born, and if they find out before I have a chance to tell them personally, it’s not my fault they didn’t call me back! And if they don’t find out til the baby’s born, well, that’s fine, too. The world will keep spinning.

I’d do the same thing. Although I’ve BEEN that friend that just can’t keep it together enough to call back… and I have been chagrined when hearing about news later and realize that it was my own damn fault that I didn’t hear about it from the horse’s mouth.
Also, does Drew have a brother? Or buddy with a similar sense of humor? I can easily visit NYC any time… one of my best friend’s lives in the LES (across from Jill Zarin’s store :)).

Quick Andrew, go to the animal shelter and get a litter of kittens to foster. You only get to keep them for 3-6 weeks and they’re great macro-lesson on what parenting is like. If your lucky Simone will help you raise them. In any case kittens reduce stress and make your heart sing when they nestle in your lap. Being constantly on call is a good analog to what it’ll be like with an infant. The up side is you can make a difference to the character of the little ones thus enhance their being adopted into permanent homes. The big downside is you have to take them back. Take a box of tissues with you. 🙂

Wendy, Drew is hilarious 🙂 You both have great senses of humor, and just seem like all around good people…that is one lucky baby you’re carrying! I work with kids who aren’t so lucky as to have great parents, so it really warms my heart to see how loved your child will be. Best wishes to you both.

At some point you will take the kitty to the vet and Drew will be home alone with your baby. He will have to make a decision. It will probably involve calling you on your cell phone, but even if he can’t do that…. I’m sure he’ll do just fine in your absence. 😉
Best of luck to you both–err, 3 since there will be a baby–err, 4 since we shouldn’t forget about Simone.
