Hmmm, am I the only one that thinks that possibly you have LESS chance of getting herpes from this guy than someone else? At least he knows he’s been diagnosed and takes steps to protect his partners and seems really grown up about it… A lot of the adult population has herpes and doesn’t know it or doesn’t care about protecting sexual partners (men and women!)

I like the no expectations you had there @veritek, then you can be pleasantly surprised! I hope the second date goes just as well!

Your date sounds a good one @veritek, where did you meet this one from?

Happy birthday Thread, and it was my birthday on Saturday as well! I had my first BBQ/house warming at my house and I had a great turn out. Everyone seemed to gel really well and other than the stressful actual cooking part, I had a great time! 😀 And then, because I am 36 years old, I went out dancing for hours!!

And then, because I am 36 years old, I cleaned up from the BBQ, did three loads of laundry, and fell asleep on the sofa on Sunday.

I wonder why you can’t just say to the guy ‘I like hanging out with you but the physical contact is a little much for friendship’? He can then tone it down, and it kind of makes me think you can tell him.

It’s possible that he didn’t have a lot of time for texting/calling before he left. I’m not saying this is a good excuse but it is possible.

Once, a long time ago, I spent Christmas Day all on my own in North London. Public transportation sucks on Christmas day here so it wasn’t even worth trying to leave my neighbourhood, which was pretty suburby. I had turkey soup from a can as I couldn’t face cooking even a small bit of turkey for myself and the cat.

And I made up my mind to treat it like any other day and not feel bad about being alone. I got up late, watched bad films and chilled out. And I remember it fondly. I know it sucks when it feels like the whole world is celebrating without you but I guarantee a lot of people are not and like @Cleopatra_30 above says, TREAT YOURSELF.

@Kate’s totally right, I know it’s not easy but don’t feed the crazy. Him dragging you through this is totally unfair: if he’s got things he needs to sort out, then do it and leave you to heal.

He sounds like a wackadoodle @kmtthat… like a confused mess. I’m sorry it sucks but you deserve to be with someone who appreciates what he’s got.

Honestly, it feels like it’s been forever and that’s flown by at the same time. I’m not sure what that could possibly mean but it’s all good.

Poor @Kare, I hope you feel better soon! It sucks when you have time off and you don’t feel well…

Yesterday was mine and the Cockney’s five year anniversary, where the heck has that time gone? I’m proposing a walk and dinner at this cute Greek place I found, YUM. Proper Greek food is not the easiest to find here, which is weird considering how close it is.
