New guy is working a 14 hour day today and possibly an 8 hour day tomorrow so we are “playing it by ear” but I hope we get to have dinner tomorrow night or something. It would be nice to see him again.
The bad news is…..my furnace is toast. So I get to spend 3 grand on a new unit next week, right when I was feeling some relief from debt lol. Nothing I can do but laugh and shake my head at this point. And get a fifth job lol.
I wouldn’t feel bad or guilty either. I think we all say “let’s stay friends” and it only happens in rare cases. I’m only friends with one of my exes and we talk maybe once a week and see each other every few months. Nothing regular.
THAT’S AWESOME!! Congrats Cleopatra!!! I’m not sure what all goes into that, but I’m sure you worked hard and deserve it! Are you doing anything to celebrate?

Holy shit mylaray! That ^^ is exactly why I google guys beforehand. I know people disagree on whether you should do that or not, but I’ve never regretted it. And I don’t always ask for last names, most times they volunteer it. Either way, sounds like maybe you should look for a new guy to date lol. Sorry you experienced that!

If it makes you feel better, I do that in my head too. I was already planning date 2 with the new guy because I had a trip to Atlanta and was figuring out my schedule and guess what? It all got messed up because of his work! I think it’s okay to be excited, just take it one date at a time 🙂
@cleo good luck on your interview! Things will work out either way but I’m glad things are going well with slogan guy! I’ve heard mixed reviews on that movie but I think I’ll go see it either way because I’ll watch anything batman related lol. Sounds like you had a good weekend!
And my dad got to leave the hospital last night so fingers crossed we can keep him out of hospitals for any more stays this year! lol
@snoopy128 I have several friends that are nurses so I knew, especially it being a holiday weekend, they might appreciate it. (And my friends say even though they appreciate sweets and baked goods, they’d rather just have something healthy or decent coffee, so I skipped the donuts or bagels)
And I was going to pick up coffee for Dad anyway since hospital coffee is awful so I just bought the big pod since it was only 14 bucks. I appreciated that they were so appreciative of it. I know they work hard and if we all had to be at the hospital on a holiday weekend, we might as well have good coffee 😉
@kmentothat I’m so happy you had a good time! You deserve it after what you’ve been through! And you’re right, if nothing else, at least you aren’t’ stuck with your ex in a bad situation and you’ve seen there are better things! I’m so excited for you!
@money I think I had a phone date interview once. It was a guy that lived about 3 hours away and he wanted to talk on the phone before driving down to meet me for a date. It seemed a little odd since I’m not really a phone talker, but whatevs. I guess I passed the phone test. We only went on that one date. I really hope things turn around for you soon!
As for me, the weekend took an interesting turn. Dad went back into the hospital Friday afternoon (that’s his fifth hospitalization in the last 10 months for those keeping score at home.) He’s still in there so I spent the weekend hanging out with him at the hospital. Pro tip: buy the nurses good coffee from Panera and they will fawn all over you and your loved one 🙂 And yesterday I trucked up some Easter food and the three of us had Easter dinner in his hospital room. Mom was lucid and actually very sweet yesterday. She even brought me an Easter basket.
The cherry on the Easter sundae? The new guy finally was able to be done working and we had an impromptu date last night! We were both kind of dressed down and since nothing was really open since it was Easter Sunday, we ate at Hooters lol. It was close to the hospital and his apartment and they have decent wings! So I had my second date and we had a great time and there will be a third date this coming weekend unless I still have parents in the hospital or he gets stuck at work again! All in all, not a bad weekend.
@kare I think you’re right. I guess he just bought the right to name the star? (and how do we know they don’t let a million people just buy the same naming rights for the same star? possibly a scam? lol)
I dunno, allegedly the paperwork is coming in the mail soon. And if there were a planetarium anywhere near me I’d be all over that!
I hope your tests come back normal and you don’t have to do any more of those for a long time!!
I am working today and second job tonight. Tomorrow I’ll venture back to crossfit for the first time since the half marathon last weekend since my body feels back to normal now. If the new guy finds out he doesn’t have to work this weekend we **might** have a date tomorrow, if not, I’ll go to my folks house for Easter a bit early and then leave their house at a reasonable hour on Sunday to go take him some food leftovers since he has no where to go for Easter and we always make way too much food.
@abbytoo I have two star “related” tattoos I suppose. One is an actual star and the other is a phrase in Latin about stars. So apparently you and I are awesome with out star tattoos 😉

I will tell a quick funny story.
So I’m obsessed with stars. I have a star tattoo and there’s a barn star on the front of my house and I have a star in every room of my home somewhere. Subtle, but it’s like a scavenger hunt to find them.
When I was on the first date with this guy we were talking about my star obsession and he got out his phone and was on it for a few minutes and so I gave him a hard time. Then he forwarded me a text confirmation. He bought me a star. You know those “name your own star registry” things? So I have a star named after me now. It was kind of adorable and hilarious at the same time.
