    My date last night was really nice! We went to dinner and then a monthly evening event hosted by the planetarium, and it was something fun and different for both of us. I hated the drink I ordered, and he traded with me (haha) and I just think he’s so nice. 🙂 He’s traveling overseas for work this week, but said he wants to see me again when he’s back and I wanna see him too.

    Aww, a planetarium date sounds really fun! Glad it’s going well so far.

    Had another date with House that ended in a bit of making out and…it felt really flat. Like maybe we’ve got better friend chemistry than sexual/romantic chemistry. He’s hilarious and trading jokey texts with him has been a lot of fun, so I’m hoping we can parlay it into a friendship if nothing else

    Banjo and I made things exclusive 😀 Things continue to go really well!
    Last night I went out for drinks with basically all my friends and Banjo (he’s met most of them before, but met a couple more) to celebrate my birthday early. Several people commented to me that we look super cute and happy together.

    In the morning he made me one of his yummy brunch creations. Tuesday’s my actual birthday and he’s taking me out to dinner. And we also have a double date planned with my friend and her boyfriend on Friday. So all happy updates over here! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

    Yay for exclusivity Lucia!

    I had a wonderful time Friday on my date. Spent 8 hours together getting coffe and then dinner and then drinks and it flew by! Even got some great kisses at the end. One of the best first dates I’ve had. The trampoline park ended up being closed for private event so they gave us free passes to come back next weekend. So we’ve already planned another date for next weekend and he is also going to come to my town sometime this week because he said he “doesn’t want to wait until Saturday to see me again.” It’s a good feeling to be excited about dating again 🙂

    So happy for everyone! It’s great to hear such lovely stories and adventures.

    I went out on a 3rd date (for brunch) yesterday with a very sweet, funny younger guy I met on OKCupid. It’s early, but yesterday we both voiced that we like each other and we want to keep getting to know each other and see where things could go. He’s younger than my baby sister by 3 days…26 to my 34…so we’ll see, but he’s a lot of fun and we’re going to dinner and a comedy club together next weekend. We have a lot in common and a lot of similar interests, and I so very rarely find men that I think are actually funny. 🙂

    Love reading all of these positive updates! @lucia_la I feel like both of us starting dating people at the same time and have followed a similar trajectory so it’s cool to read your updates and cheer you guys on from afar 🙂

    “doesn’t want to wait until Saturday to see me again”…melt. Reall interested to hear how the trampoline park is, I’ve always wanted to try one of those!

    For some reason, when I was in my 20s (starting when I was umm, 20) I pretty much only dated men in their 30s, and now that I’m in my 30s I’ve been mostly dating men in their 20s. Age is such an arbitrary thing once you hit your 30s I think. Glad you guys had fun.

    As for me, nothing new…just hanging out with Canadian bf a ton and trying not to overthink everything. We head to Toronto in three days! I’m nervous/excited.

    I think guys in their 30s just continue to be primarily interested in 20-something women. Women in their early 30s aren’t in such high demand with guys of the same age, and you’re not really into 40-somethings yet.

    Meanwhile, guys in their 20s would have to compete with 30-something guys for the attention of 20-something women, but it’s easier for them to get the attention of 30-something women.

    So when you get into your 30s, you hear somewhat less from 30-something guys and more from the young’uns. As you get into your mid-late 30s you’ll be more open to guys in their 40s, so your options will shift again. This is all normal.

    @kmtthat – girl I melted too. It was a very sweet thing to say and I’m glad he wants to see me again before Sat. because the feeling is mutual. And we did get a tour of the trampoline park (I think they were trying really hard to keep our business after disappointing us by being closed!) and it looked epic. Even if this guy didn’t want to go back with me, my butt is going back to that place because it looked like so much fun! They even had a hurricane machine to try out (like a big tube with hurricane wind simulators). I think it’s going to be fun to be a big kid for a day again.

    I love all these positive updates, too!

    @nickel_5
    That kinda sucks! Back in college, I had a huge crush on one of my best friends, who wound up moving home in the middle of the school year. He came to visit months later and we finally made out and it was THE WORST. We tried a few times to see if it was just a bad first kiss, but we just didn’t have that kind of chemistry. And I was so sad! Then he then immediately slept with one of my friends. Like while staying with me and two hours after he and I were trying to force that physical connection. And then I was sad in a different way. Anyway, maybe give it another shot? But it’s nice that you’d at least be hopeful for a friendship. My sister has had good luck at turning failed online dating attempts into friendships, and I’m weirdly jealous.

    @TheLadyE
    I don’t think age is a huge deal! We like who we like. I’m 30, and one of my friends who is 26 basically loves me and wants to date me. I really like him a lot, but just don’t think we’re compatible — and not because he’s younger, but because he does things like cocaine.) It seems like you’re having fun, so just go with it. I have a friend who think it’s horrifying to date younger men — to the extent that she thought being like 11 months older than one of her exes was a big f’ing deal — and I think she’s so stupid for it.

    @Veritek Was that date 2? 3? I’m pleased with the direction things are moving with the guy I’ve been on a couple dates with, but it’s been SO LONG since I’ve felt excited in that can’t-wait-to-see-him-next kinda way. So I’m glad you’re feeling it for both of us! 🙂

    @kmen Are you meeting the family when you go to Toronto? I’ve been there in the dead of winter before and the weather was brutal, but it’s a great city! Have a wonderful time!

    HURRICANE MACHINE?? I am so jealous, that sounds like a blast!!

    @Copa I’m meeting his sister who lives out there. His parents live over there too but are in Florida right now so we are planning to head down to visit them/get a sunshine break at the end of next month. Of course I broke out with a huge (like the size of a dime) acne cyst right between my eyes. I usually have really clear skin so of course I’m mortified. If anyone has any thoughts on getting a big swollen sucker like that to be ok in a few days, I am here for it!

    Also happy Pi Day! I’m totally getting pie with lunch 🙂

    oooh TO isn’t that bad! haha I am from the greater toronto area, the winter has been better this year than in the last 6 or 7 years. More snow, but the city is awesome! I hope he gives you a good tour. Lots of neat things to see and eat 😀

    I am glad to hear everyone is enjoying their dates. Seems I am getting all the crap luck on my end. None of my dates have lead anywhere, and the guys on Tinder and Bumble seem to never respond. The guy I went out with a couple weeks ago informed me due to his schedule (he is going to LA periodically for the next couple months for work. We are in Alberta) that it may be difficult to keep something going. Which I predicted as he had mentioned the LA thing the first time we met, and then due to our busy schedules haven’t had a second “date.” He said he wants to keep chatting and see me when he can, but idk. I told him I have no issue talking still but only if it is genuine interest, not that obligatory kind cause we went out once and have been talking for a couple weeks. Also suggested that he could contact me once the dust settles and see if I am still available. Waiting for a reply now…
