Since you all have given good advice in the past about clothing… Would this be ok to wear for a black tie wedding? http://imgur.com/a/JjEQyDe I was looking to get something from Rent the Runway, but I liked this one more (and the price was better).
I think it could work nicely. I would make sure my accessories were more fancy since it’s a shorter dress but I think it would be really cute. Now, I can’t think of what to say to do accessories wise, my brain just isn’t getting there today, but perhaps just if your shoes had some sparkle or something, nothing sandal like of course.
I think that’s okay. I tend to do the full length dress every time I go to a black tie event to play it safe, but I think that one is formal enough that the length is okay, and agree with @JD that you could glam up even more with great accessories. RTR has jewelry and accessories for rent, too!
Pretty! I’d change out the belt. Perhaps something velvet or shiny? Bracelet(s) and earrings.
EDT: I’ve worn a dress that falls just below the knees to black tie events and it worked nicely. Since it had a v-neck line, I paired it with a statement necklace and wore pretty, strappy heels because it was always summer when I wore it.
Thanks all! And good point about accessories – I was thinking pearls or silver, I’ll see if I’ve got any matching statement pieces… Thanks for the accessory tip on RTR, I’ll take a look there too. I’ve got some shiny heels and belt that I think match as well.

I personally wouldn’t do a necklace. I think it would be too much with the high neck. And then if you switch out the belt. Too much.
Necklaces with that cut of top is difficult. I’d pass on the necklace personally! Maybe a nice bracelet?
Good point about a necklace, the neckline does seem pretty high. I’ll look into earrings and a bracelet…
