Something is seriously wrong with people. Ok, well we know that. I put for FREE on FB Marketplace this hideous giant oak entertainment center my husbands brother decided was our issue to deal with by leaving it behind. I keep receiving messages with nothing but “what’s your address”. When I kindly say to arrange a time they would come and give them my general area they then get mad at me for not giving my address. Ya, ok nut bag, not happening. I will not be giving my address until they are ready to come, which will ONLY be a time when my husband is home for obvious safety reasons. I really am baffled by some people.

@JD – people are nuts! I’ve posted stuff before on Craig’s list (before it was more….well what it is now) to sale some furniture and I’d get crazy requests. Once someone called to look at the furniture in person so I gave my address. I was kind of dumb and didn’t make sure to have anyone with me or let anyone know. And the guy pulls up in a large white commercial type van (you know the kind in movies that kidnappers always use?). I kind of freaked for a moment but it all worked out – he was normal.

I’ve sold a good amount of stuff over the years and never had a problem. I always have had someone with me, and meet somewhere public when I can, obviously not with furniture. This is the first time, and first time selling something in this new city, where I feel far less safe than I ever have anywhere, so it’s even worse. Yes my giant, ex military husband will be there so you crazies can get rid of your ideas to come kidnap or rob me now.

We tried to sell an elliptical when we moved from DC a few years ago. Nine people made appointments to see it but only four came. None bought it but one guy spent fifteen minutes working out in my basement before deciding not to buy.

Haha that is pretty funny that he worked out for 15 minutes. I was actually trying to find a used treadmill as I really only want something for a year, as I won’t want to move it with me, and sadly no luck around here. Either people think a 10 year old treadmill is worth thousands still or they are for parts. I miss having the nice big pool of OC/LA/SD to search for items to buy. Small area, less selection.

I just bought a brand new really good little treadmill from an Aussie groupon type of site. It’s quite compact and folds up for when you don’t need it, brand new for only $178. I’m super pleased with it, do you have access to anything like that where you are? Ebay?

I got my first RSVP yesterday! Woohoo!! People are going to celebrate with us! That is the most exciting part in my book.

Other accomplishments this week – figured how to do my hair, got the outfits ordered of all the ladies minus my Mom. Picked out my shoes, which I’m super excited about and only $20 and totally re-wearable. FMH officially picked his suit style, so now we just gotta figure that out.

Oh how exciting! I am sure they will start to come pouring in.

My carpets are currently being cleaned. I slept about 3 hours so just want that to be done so I can lie down again. Why my stepson feels the need to set an alarm at 5 a.m., when he doesn’t wake up until 7, and sleeps through the 5 a.m. one anyway is beyond my comprehension. I told him that alarm will be in the middle of the street come tomorrow if it happens again. Good grief. Took me until 2:45 or later to fall asleep then wake up to that.

So after the carpet cleaning, and a nap, I hope to feel normal again.

Tell me more about your hair, @TheHizzy. If I ever get married, I’d keep things as low key as possible… but I’d care about my dress and hair. 🙂 I’m good at doing my own hair, but would I trust myself on an important day?

Ya I would for sure outsource hair and makeup myself just because while I can do both fine, I would just not want the stress that day, and then god knows it ends up being one of those hair days or I am rushed or sweating (I would be for sure) and just frustrated.

I sport a pixie and I still had my stylist come and do my hair for my super low key wedding. I didn’t have a veil or barrettes or anything either. I also had someone do my makeup. I looked like an elevated version of “me” and I still looked natural. I’m glad I spent some money to do that.

Agree on outsourcing beauty- a good makeup person translates into gorgeous photos. When my sister got married the hairdresser made my hair look like I had twice as much. I was amazed.

Here in Florida, the AC needs repair, two bathrooms need to be redone and the window guy is coming back next Wednesday to finish the hurricane windows and install a new door (I’m hoping it’s a 1 day job). I have a cough that won’t go away and so I’m fighting with my mom because I had planned on trimming some ground cover plants over the weekend and she’s convinced that I’m allergic to something (which I take a Zyrtec daily so whatever). And by fighting I mean, we’re fighting over my desire to do some home improvement chores and her not wanting me to do it… so…we’re ridiculous.
