Living at home as an adult isn’t a character flaw! Like many in my age range (I’m mid-30s now), I graduated with a good amount of debt and not-great job prospects. It took a couple years for me to be in an okay financial situation.

I get the sense that you think there are things about you that make you undateable that don’t actually make you undateable. You/your life can be a work in progress while actively dating. You’re be no less worthy of a great partner than the person whose life appears more put together (and even then, that person surely has their own insecurities and tough stuff that they’ve dealt with).

An admin can delete this if it’s not appropriate, but two dating-related accounts I still follow on social media even though I have been off the market for years are: @matchmakermaria and @findingmrheight. Both offer advice and perspectives on dating that are solid and you may enjoy them if you’re on platforms like Instagram or TikTok.

I agree, I think many many men would be fine with a woman in her 20s living at home. Braces, facial surgeries. Not making much money. None of that is necessarily a big deal. Men want someone kind, caring, appreciative. Are there men looking for someone gorgeous and/or very successful? Sure, but generally I think they’re looking for someone to have a nice time with. And being really successful in your career can actually detract from your appeal on dating sites. You’re actually better off downplaying it if that’s the case.
