Type of Automobiles
Automobiles are divided into various types based upon diverse factors. These are the categories of vehicles:
1. Based on the objective that the car is designed for:
Automobiles are classified according to their purpose dependent on whether the vehicle is designed to transport passengers or for transport of products or USD for any specific purpose.
Passenger vehicle - Car, bus, taxi, etc.
Commercial vehicle - Trucks, tempos, containers, etc.
Special purpose vehicle - Ambulance police, fire brigade, ambulance vehicle, etc.

2. Based on the capacity of the load:
The classification is made according to the capacity of carrying loads for the vehicle. This is also a way of determining classification that is based on the motor as well as the car body.
Light motor vehicle (LMV) - Car, Jeep, Minivan, etc.
Medium motor vehicle (MMV) - Tempo, bus, mini truck, etc.
The heavy motor vehicle (HMV) includes truck trailer, container, tractor, bus with multiple axles, etc.
3. Based upon the amount of wheels
There are a variety of wheel sizes utilized in a vehicle can also be classified.
Two-wheeler - Scooter, Motorcycle, etc.
Three-wheeler - Autorickshaw.
Four Wheeler - Car, jeep, mini van, tractor, etc.
Six-wheeler - Mini truck, etc.
Six wheels or more: Container, trailer, truck Multi-axle bus.

4. Based on the fuel that was used by the car:
The fuel that is used is a crucial element for vehicle classification. Fuel plays an important part in the efficiency and performance that the automobile.
Petrol - The mechanism that employs petrol is referred to as"the Spark ignition mechanism. The octane value of petrol determines the anti-knock performance, performance and efficiency. The most common octane numbers offered are 87,89 and 91-93. Most commonly, they are used in passenger vehicles and two-wheelers.
Diesel The system is known as the Compression ignition method. The number of cetane in diesel is the deciding factor for the amount of compression and the fuel required to ignite. The numbers for cetane generally vary from 45 to 55. The majority of them are used in commercial or heavy-duty automobiles.
CNG - Compressed Natural Gas as a different type of fuel that is used in lieu of petrol. Its benefit is that it emits lower levels of toxic emissions from vehicles, but the drawback is that it affects the efficiency of the vehicle when contrasted to petrol. They are typically employed in public transport vehicles as well as passenger cars.
Electric Vehicles - Electric vehicles are quite a novel technology that is that is used to replace combustion fuels. Electric vehicles make use of electric energy as fuel source from the battery with a high capacity.
Hydrogen Fuel cell made of hydrogen is a new invention for the automotive industry that is in the midst of research. It's anticipated to provide an economical and safer method for the auto industry.
5. This is based on the engine of your vehicle.
Automobiles are divided into three kinds according to their transmission systems. The three types are:
manual transmission system. This one employs a frictional clutch that is attached to the drive shaft. It is the linkage that connects fictional clutch and the flywheel is utilized to control and declutch the transmission.
Automatic Transmission system The torque converter is utilized to transmit energy through rotation in this system. The gear shifts are controlled by computer systems of the car that utilize planetary gears, brakes, and clutches.
Semi-automatic transmission systems - They is often referred to as a hybrid between automatic or manual system of transmission. The input is manual , and the output is controlled in this type of system, with one of the main differences is the absence of an automatic clutch.
Continuously variable transmission (CVT) In CVT transmission the push belt transfer the torque from one pulley to another. It is used to smooth shift the gears.
6. Based on the source of power for the vehicle:
The power supply in an automobile is a significant element and the type of power supply in cars is as follows:
Internal combustion engine (ICE) as the name implies, IC engines use combustible fuel for power generation within the engine. It is comprised of components including inlet manifolds, intake valves pistons, cylinder head the crankshaft, camshaft, flywheel the exhaust manifold, the exhaust valve as well as a spark plug (only in gasoline engines).
The electric battery (EV) The vehicles utilize one or two electric motors to drive rather than the IC engine. The power is provided by the high voltage batteries found inside these cars. These vehicles are currently at increasing demand in the marketplace as a solution to increasing global warming, pollution and depleting natural resources and so on.
Fuel cell hydrogen vehicle (FCEV) Hydrogen fuel cells are the next generation technology that utilizes hydrogen to fuel. It is considered to be a long-term alternative to combustible fuels since hydrogen resources are readily available in abundance. The reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to create power that is then used to power the motor. The process's exhaust is made up of water gas.
