Speaking of negotiating and funeral costs etc. – when my grandpa died in the 70s he died on a Sunday. My mom went with Grandma to the funeral home and they had to open on Sunday so they had to charge my Grandma an extra fee for planning the funeral on a Sunday. And my mom said Grandma just kind of looked at them, like, you can’t pick the day you die and said “Well if he’d known it was going to cost extra I’m sure he would have held out till Monday.”
They ended up not charging her the fee.
yep, no kids so that helps with looking younger lol
Wendy, I got carded while out with my redheaded friend a few weeks ago (I’m 30, she’s 28) And when the bartender read our IDs she just kinda laughed and said “I can never tell with Gingers, you people age well.”
Then she apologized if she offended us. No offense whatsoever 🙂
@booknerd haha, my bad. Not everyone can enjoy the two buck chuck or 4 dollar wine without consequences.
And to further the sunscreen point – I’ve been wearing moisturizer with SPF 45 or higher in it since I was 13 – every single day. The result? When i tell most people I’m 30 they don’t believe me. I look younger than a lot of my friends because I’ve avoided the sun and taken good care of my skin. There’s a lot to be said for that.
And drink lots of water – that’s good for your body and skin!
1. Start working out if you haven’t already – it’s a good habit to start and it only gets harder to stay in shape the older you get.
2. Eat as well as you can on your budget. If you can only afford a few veggies a week, get a few veggies a week. Don’t live off ramen and easy mac.
3. Don’t open store credit cards if you don’t absolutely need them.
4. Save money when you can but still buy fun things you deserve.
5. Don’t stay in relationship longer than you should. (Learned that at 28)
6. Travel within your means, but see the world if you can.
7. Treatyoself within your means. If that means a manicure or a vacation or a 4 dollar bottle of wine? Do it.
8. Appreciate your parents. The older you get, the older they get and they aren’t going to be around forever.
9. Birth control. Be safe but have fun.
10. Try new foods you’ve never tried.Enjoy your 20s, they fly by fast
Sorry @honeybeenicki but unless youre in small town mid missouri and it’s 14 years ago, i think you’re good. It closed in late 2001
i’m not sure about any secret appetite suppresants, but everything was cooked in really old lard. (this was 14 years ago so it might have changed since then…) and since everything was coated in fat, i would imagine it filled you up faster.
I used to be the hostess and make the desserts. God damn i miss those brownies.
