Drinking with Dear Wendy: Pink Ladies!

If you’ve enjoyed watching these DWDW videos but haven’t actually tried any of the recipes yourself yet, I urge you to break the trend and make this one. It’s loosely inspired by a drink served at a restaurant in our neighborhood that I’ve always loved. I watched how the bartenders made it — with vodka, aperol, among other ingredients — and tried to replicate it at home with no luck. Then, unrelated, I had an idea to mix gin and cappelletti, along with some lemon juice and honey syrup and club soda. I played around with ratios until I finally had something undeniably delicious. And then it dawned on me – even using different alcohol, my drink tasted a lot like the Painted Ladies I’d been drinking at Faun for the last year. I call mine a Pink Lady, and I hope you’ll try it and let me know what you think.

Pink Lady

2 ounces cappelletti
1 1/2 ounces gin
3/4 ounces lemon juice
1/2 ounces honey
2 ounces club soda

Shake the first four ingredients in a martini shaker filled with ice, fill a glass 3/4 full, and top with club soda. Garnish with lemon wheels and an adorable paper straw.

  1. I had never heard of Cappelletti but I googled it and it sounds delicious. This definitely sounds like one to try!
