Haha! Yes to what MrMid said!!!!! I would fully appreciate that offer.
Umm, my first date with this guy happened after I sent him a welcome back e-mail when he got back from his two week vacation. We were flirting a bit before said vacation. I linked a Chicagoist article showing different, fun summer cocktails from around the city and then I said “I not so secretly want to try the drink with the shark gummies.”
Later that week, he took me on our first date to the bar that had the drink with the shark gummies.
July 30, 2015 at 8:51 am #369773Ahh boo 🙁 Sorry it ended up being a dud of a date 🙁 Maybe just ask him what he is interested in and depending on the answer make some evasive action on the dating!
😕 Yeah I guess he thought you were busy afterwards… But if he was really keen, wouldn’t he blow off his friend to spend some private time with you? I had two cocktails with lunch, I might be being a bit presumptuous. I think you deserve better veritek, there’s someone out there that would be thrilled to ‘meet your beagles’.
July 30, 2015 at 9:36 am #369783I agree with Nookie – what guy is not going to change plans for a girls he is super into? With the possibility of adult alone time?! That may turn into making out at least?! His friend would understand. He needs to be the one to make the effort this time. He’s acting like a guy who just wants to be friends, you deserve better!
I used to use my cat to get me out of bad parties/social scenes: “Oh I’ve got to go home, Charlie will be so worried about me!” 😀 Then I wouldn’t explain who ‘Charlie’ is.
I don’t mean that Stinky HamSandwich is a bad guy really, I just think that veritek deserves someone that is EXCITED to see those beagles! Who really knows what’s in his head but every girl deserves a guy that gets excited about beagles. And yes, I am going to ride this euphemism until it gets boring – or I forget.
KateJuly 30, 2015 at 9:47 am #369787I agree, you need to feel like a guy is excited about you, excited about seeing you, puts in the effort to be in touch and see you (at least as much as you do), etc. Think about when there’s been a guy like that that you just know is really into you and excited about you. Maybe you weren’t that into him, but you definitely knew he was into you. With the right guy, you both have that feeling. you know you have it, and you sense it from him too, without confusion or questioning what’s going on in his head.
Well, I don’t think it was a friend. It was a guy who was looking for a drummer for his band (ham sandwich is a drummer in his spare time.) so I dunno, I’d feel bad canceling on a stranger when I thought the other person might have plans. Either way, I’m hanging back. Clearly he knows how to get ahold of me since he texted me already today. We’ll see.
Btw love the beagle euphemism
YES @KATE! I’m lucky I’ve never had to do the online dating thing, sussing each other out and wearing your date armour. But even with that, at a certain point there has to be that fission of excitement from both parties! And Veritek goddamn it, I want that for you. There is a man out there that is a fit and you’ll both be thrilled to see some puppies. Ooer, as the English say.
