I have a blue and gold short dress I wore for a a work function this year that I think would be appropriate! I’m taking the afternoon off and he’s coming down here and I think we’ll have a casual dinner and then go to my friend’s party at 8. They usually rent out a local bar and shut it down for the night and dress up and bring in appetizers and control who can come in.
I’ve never gone to the NYE party in the past because my ex from hell’s best friend owned the bar and no, just no, I’m not giving that *&^$ any of my money, so now that she sold it to a new guy and he’s willing to give my friends the same deal, I’m in! There’s even going to be a cigar bar and light up at 11:30.
I don’t have any dates to add, but I guess I’m back on the market! In the past week I’ve chatted with someone online that finally piques my interest enough so that we are discussing meeting up soon. That’s pretty big since I haven’t dated in over a year now. I’m not sure yet if I’m actually going to meet up with him, but the chatting has been nice.
At the same time, I’ve also had a stage 5 clinger that unfortunately lives in my apartment complex and locked onto me at our holiday party. Avoiding him like the plague!
December 23, 2015 at 8:49 am #404615veritek, I bought this dress from Macy’s over Thanksgiving for cheap. I’m planning to wear it for NYE, but I love it because it’s lined and NOT SCRATCHY like most dresses that have sequins (plus it’s made in the US of A.
Anyway, I thought of you because I think it would go nicely with your hair.

(I had a coupon and there was a sale)@materialsgirl that is cuuuuute! You’re right, it would probably go well with my hair lol. So cute. I’m excited for you and this dress!
@sms841 that’s exciting! Are you pumped? I know it’s nerve racking to get back out there after a long break but sometimes its nice to rip off the band aid and just go have a great time. I hope you have a fun date with him or someone else soon!Meanwhile, I have HUGE bags under my eyes due to working stupid holiday hours at TJ Maxx and maybe staying up even later texting with the army guy. We’ll never know which one is causing the bags…
kareDecember 23, 2015 at 5:18 pm #404727The guy I went to the movies with last week sent me flowers! And now the cats are trying to eat them.
I’m trying to figure out what to do for new years eve. I definitely plan to go out with my friends, but I’m not sure if I want to bring this guy, or my FWB, or go dateless.
December 24, 2015 at 1:20 pm #404795I met up with the Trombone Player last night- it was a nice evening and I’m glad I met him. Other than that… not much else to say. We met near my office for some hot chocolate, then walked around a little bit and ended up having some mediterranean food since it was dinner time. He kept asking me what I like to do for fun, and when I told him my typical week (work 9-6, gym, eat, etc) he was surprised at how busy I was and was like, how do you find time for men?? (Um, I dunno, I just do?) Anyway, I enjoyed talking to him but that was about it.
And then last night I got a text from a guy from eharmony I have emailed back and forth with, and the conversation got to be a little flirtatious. (I like flirting, so it made me smile.) So, hey, we’ll see. I’m not too worried though. 🙂TheLadyEDecember 24, 2015 at 10:18 pm #404815Um so you guys, I did something TOTALLY out of the ordinary today…and I have to share with someone! Since you are all so supportive when someone gets a little action around here…;)
Last night, I matched on Coffee Meets Bagel with seriously the cutest guy I’ve ever been matched with. He started messaging me and we exchanged flirty banter back and forth; he is in town to visit his family from LA and, unfortunately, I was scheduled to go home to my parents’ in Pennsylvania today. He’s going back to LA on Monday.
Well, the guy – let’s call him the Salesman, he’s in sales (as am I, which is fun and we had a great time flirting with each other with sales techniques) asked me out today and I had been thinking about postponing my trip to tomorrow anyway so I said yes. Ironically, his family lives DOWN THE STREET from my house so we were in the same neighborhood.
So we met at a coffee shop at 11am and we hit it off – he is remarkably cute and was funny and witty and could keep up with me – and at around 2:30 he was like “What do you want to do now?” and…asked to go back to my house.
…and you guys, I said yes!
I don’t really like to kiss and tell but it’s the first time I’ve met a guy and taken him home that same day and he said the same for him and it was a LOT of fun.
He left my house around 6:45 when his family was calling him over and over wondering where he was.
He’s going back to LA on Monday and we agreed to keep in touch but obviously we’ll just be friends and maybe see each other when he’s back in town or if/when I go there (I love LA and have been wanting to visit again soon). This is wild but it was so much fun. I have no grand illusions of what this was; he’s 26 to my 33 and it’d be more of a FWB than anything else – which I have NEVER done – but he is just so cute and he made me laugh and he was enamored with how I look and it felt so, so nice.
Merry Christmas to me! (And him! Haha.)
