Wendy, I love you! Just thought I’d mention another of my favorite columnists though. Have you guys heard of E. Jean Carroll? She was an advice columnist and I LOVE her advice in regards to dating. She had a fabulous book out in 2001, Mr. Right, right now!, which I know is 15 years ago, but the book changed me. It was the switch on and I had a lot of realizations. I HIGHLY suggest you guys check it out! The main thing I love about what the book taught me was that you do not need a man’s approval, or a man’s love for that matter. The book focused on enjoying your life, instead of solely seeking men to fill your life with.

Sorry, and I don’t mean that in a condescending or judgmental way…I mean it as in it was a great book and I really think you all would like it too 🙂

I feel like my dating life has gotten a lot less interesting since I met Physicist. J and I had to have a super serious conversation about where we’re going (and where we’re not going) to make sure we were on the same page. But he’s been adjusting to me having a new relationship, and things are going really smoothly. I continue to be completely smitten with Physicist. The other day he came over and I was tired and crampy so he made dinner for me and let me read my book. We are having to force ourselves to set reasonable timelines for things so that we don’t run away together.

    Awwww that’s sweet, stone!

I am feeling frustrated this week, and I think it’s because I’m not being stimulated mentally. My FWB and I are going out either tonight or tomorrow, so that should help. I just get bored easily and need interesting conversation with another human being. My friends don’t like discussing politics, the arts, science, or anything like that.

Anyone have fun plans for the weekend? I don’t at the moment, but who knows.

I’m leaving on Sunday for Florida for work, and that is also our 2 year anniversary, so on Saturday night my boyfriend and I are going out to dinner. We’re going to a Swiss/German place that he’s been wanting to go to for awhile, and I’m looking forward to it too!

I’m headed out to the mountains with some friends for the weekend. We rented a house for Fri/Sat nights with a hot tub and a fireplace. We’re going to play lots of tabletop games, have a snowman building contest, probably do some sledding, and I’m guessing I’ll probably finish the book I’ve been reading, which I have not wanted to put down.
I’m so excited for the mini-getaway.

That sounds like an awesome weekend! I’m hoping maybe later this year I can do a trip with my friends.

Tonight I’m going to a bar that’s inspired by The Shining. I’m really excited!

Oh that’s exciting! You’ll have to tell me about it. I have a couple friends who got married at the hotel it’s based on, and it’s really a gorgeous place. I’m pretty sure they do ghost tours there on a regular basis, but I’ve never been on one.

This weekend is full for me! Tomorrow night I’m having dinner with one friend and then going to an Irish pub to see my favorite local musician with 2 others.

Saturday morning I’m volunteering at a food pantry with another friend’s church, and then probably doing some solo shopping/pampering myself. Then it’s house cleaning (my house is a den of iniquity as far as cleanliness right now) and spending time with my dog.

Sunday I’m getting my hair cut and highlighted (FINALLY) and then going to a Robert Burns-inspired dinner at another Irish pub with another friend. All in all I’m seeing like 5 friends this weekend. Yay!

@TheLadyE That sounds like such a fun weekend! I love when weekends are full of friend time (sometimes, others I’m kind of a recluse).
Honestly I’m more excited to spend the whole weekend with my friend group than the house itself (though, YAY HOT TUB AND FIREPLACE!). There’s going to be so much gaming and drinking. It’ll be like my birthday party but for two days.

I have been very depressed since October and have felt every so often like I was edging out of it, but it really hit a head the past two weeks where it has been very terrible. I think I showered twice in a week and essentially stopped eating because I just couldn’t. Basically would get home from work and get straight in to bed. Anyways I do feel like *maybe* I don’t want to jinx it, I am feeling better, my appetite has come back today and I have been taking really really long walks with my dog that have helped. So this weekend, there are a few fun events going on and I want to go out and actually be able to enjoy myself and have fun, vs just going through the motions and acting like it. It is also going to be in the 60s, after we got 20 inches of snow last weekend, hello global warming, so I am going to spend a lot of my weekend outside and working on DIY projects and some woodworking and finishing my application to graduate school which is due Monday!

I’m sorry you’ve been feeling that way Mucha! I’m glad you’re feeling better though! And good luck with your applications and getting outside!

My girlfriend and I are taking a spontaneous trip out of town! I found us a groupon hotel deal and she told her husband he’s in charge of the two kids tomorrow. We made appointments for tattoos(!!) My third and her first. And we are going to a winery and shoe shopping. Then we are going to sleep in and get room service and enjoy relaxing. We both need it badly! lol
