Well, I guess you can’t blame him for trying? Ha. Glad to hear your dad is home from the hospital!
I don’t have much of an update these days, except that I’m kind of frustrated. Let’s see. New Year’s dude and I still text occasionally, and after suggesting we do something this week (and me replying, asking what his schedule was like to set something up) he hasn’t responded. So that’s that. I went on 2 dates this past weekend, both of which were pretty good. The first guy was nice, we had dinner, and I had a good time. The second guy I had coffee with on Sunday, and I enjoyed it much more, actually, and that felt mutual. I actually felt nervous, which is unusual for me. He suggested talking later to coordinate schedules and I agreed. Needless to say, I haven’t heard from him. (I did send a “had a nice time” message suggesting again to meet up sometime, later that night.) So I assume that’s that. I’m not sure why exactly but feel a bit disappointed. Maybe just because I actually had a legit good time and was interested in seeing him again? So, oh well. But it’s all just very frustrating.
kareFebruary 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm #437809I got on bumble, but I’m just meh about it so far. There’s less harassing messages. But I gave my number to a guy and he then told me “I hope you don’t think this is offensive, but you look like you have nice boobs”. Ugh. I wanted to reply back “actually I don’t, it’s just a mess up in there”…but I refrained. I think bumble is still like tinder, except guys are holding off on the over eager messages at first. My FWB said it’s the age group (late 20s/Gen Y) as well. But we had sushi Friday, followed by wine and spectacular sex.
No plans for valentine’s day for me, but I did book my trip to Iceland! My friend has ghosted me, so I decided to go alone. I’m excited/slightly nervous as I’ve never even traveled out of state alone.
@money I think your frustration is understandable. I would be frustrated too. Take a dating break with me? lol we’ll skype or something and drink wine. It’ll be awesome. Oh crap, I gave up wine for February too. I’ll have crystal light!
@kare anytime someone says “i hope this isn’t offensive” i brace myself to be offended. And congrats on the spectacular sex!ChimingInFebruary 10, 2016 at 3:23 pm #437820Hi Kare 🙂 I’m excited for your trip to Iceland!!! I was actually planning on going. Just wanted to suggest you check out Frommers.com! They have “suggested itineraries” and maps and lots of VERY helpful info. I’ve used them on all the trips I’ve taken and they’ve never failed me. In fact, I often get asked questions as if I’m a local. Screw your friend, you’re going to have a fabulous time 🙂
February 10, 2016 at 8:45 pm #437851OOOh! Iceland! That is going to be so much fun 😀 I have heard great things about it, so much geological history there 🙂
I am trying to watch my money for the next while so I can save up for a trip in the Fall for my 25th Birthday. I am hoping to go to Hawaii 🙂 I have gone over my weekly budget twice now, so I just need to make sure I prioritize.
I don’t have serious plans per-say for V-day. I am sleeping over with Slogan guy on V-day because we are seeing the Deadpool movie the following Monday with a bunch of his friends around noon. So we figured it’s an excuse to sleepover and have some fun 😉 We are going to watch the new Walking Dead that night, and then I am surprising him by buying a jar of nutella and some fruit so we can dip them in it. He has never had Nutella before so I am going to introduce him to it 😛
I ended up being ghosted by Pilot Guy, who I liked personality wise, but couldn’t figure out chemistry. I sent him what I though was an innocent text asking what his intentions were with me so that we were on the same page, since I really wasn’t sure if he wanted to ‘date’ me or just ‘hang out’ with me as it seemed to be the last couple times. Then I never heard from him! So kind of sad because he checked off a bunch of things I look for in a guy, but I guess the lack of chemistry kind of doomed it.
I do have a new date this Saturday. Kind of hopeful, the guy moved to Canada when he was 12 years old from Romania. He likes the outdoors, seems to be pretty athletic and has a good sense of humour and we flirted a bit already. So we shall see!
ICELAND! What an adventure, you’re going to have a fantastic time – I’ve never been but everyone I know that has been raves about it, it’s such a wild and interesting place.
Also I saw Deadpool last night with some friends and really enjoyed it, it’s funny. And that’s from someone who doesn’t usually like superhero movies much.
kareFebruary 12, 2016 at 3:05 pm #439101Thanks for the feedback guys! I can’t wait! Does anyone have clothing recommendations? I’m going in October, so I’ll be dressing in layers for sure.
FWB and I have a movie date tonight! Our movie taste rarely lines up, so I’m excited there’s something we both want to see.
@Kare that sounds like fun! I’m really no help with wardrobe options though, sorry 🙁
Anyone remember GI Ginger, the one night stand from middle of January? He texted me at 1:30 in the morning last night presumably wanting a booty call by letting me know he was in my neighborhood and could come by and say hi! lol. I happened to be awake with a case of insomnia. Rather than respond I deleted, took a melatonin and blissfully, eventually fell asleep.
I guess it’s nice to know he’s alive! Douche.
No fun plans for the weekend. Still catching up on sleep from dad’s hospitalization so I plan to be very lazy and treat myself to a valentine’s day bubble bath with my last lush bath bomb and finish the book I started and haven’t finished, and then make myself some homemade crab cakes because they’re SO expensive to make from scratch but so tasty so I like to make them on valentines whether i have a date or not. It’s like my own little tradition. So, bubble bath, books and good food. I’m looking forward to it. Happy Valentine’s everyone!
