Sorry for sounding dumb, but why is it important what day of the week the date is? I thought the actual location/activity is what matters? And perhaps evening versus afternoon?
And yes, I am definitely listening to Kate on any topic from now on. Even when I post about my problems from an anonymous account. 😉August 6, 2015 at 4:08 pm #370865I don’t want to speak for all guys, but for myself, I’m always a little extra impressed when a woman I go out with wears a dress instead of jeans. Particularly on a first date.
So, I’m thinking of dipping my toe into the online dating world but I’m not sure what website to use. Is Match still popular? Or has everyone moved on to apps like Tinder and Coffee Meets Bagel? I feel like I don’t photograph well so I don’t know that I would fare well on Tinder.
Any advice on what websites/apps to use?
KateAugust 6, 2015 at 4:16 pm #370869Kicia, I don’t photograph well either, but to be on any dating site or app you will need a good headshot, full body shot, and maybe an activity shot. Selfies are ok for the head shot I think, so play around and get a good one. If you’re serious, do a paid site like Match, a free one like OKC, and I can’t speak for apps bc I last online dated 3 years ago.
TheLadyEAugust 6, 2015 at 4:27 pm #370874I’ve met my last 2 longish-term boyfriends on OK Cupid, so I really vouch for it. I’m also on Coffee Meets Bagel and it does seem like guys there are more prone to actually having a conversation if you “connect” with them, but you only get one a day and it’s not even every day so it’s important to have more than that going.
I’ve tried Tinder a couple of times but it just hasn’t worked for me & what I’m looking for. With OKC and CMB, I feel like the guys there are actually looking for something that might resemble a real relationship – or at least, a larger percentage of them are than those that are on Tinder.
Just my $0.02.
I’ve never used online dating websites or apps, but I know of some long-term relationships which have originated from Tinder. I’ve been told you need to be persistent and not give up, because many of the men will be rubbish (setting you up etc), but every once in a while someone great comes along.
