@Ale Off topic, but how did you find a nutritionist you like? I’ve dabbled in the idea of finding one (or a dietician). There are so many fad diets/eating preferences out there that I’d love to work with someone for a little while to figure out what works best for my body, and truly understand how many calories and how much of each macronutrient I need.
TheLadyENovember 7, 2017 at 3:18 pm #726282This Matthew Hussey guy seems like…a really good sales guy. However, he does seem to have some good insights (or maybe it’s just that he speaks really convincingly with a British accent). I stumbled upon him on Facebook and then realized I’ve read about him before on this thread. What do we think of him?
@Copa I’ve always looked for nutritionists with some kind of specialization or background in sports. The current one I’m seeing has a degree in nutrition for olympic sports. I’m not an olympian athlete but I know she is used to people that NEED to eat to perform, instead of eating to lose weight. She has a lot of clients that do competitive martial arts.
I usually first follow them on Instagram so I can get a sense of what they do, how they treat their clients. That way I can see if their views match mine.Trixy minxNovember 7, 2017 at 10:30 pm #726319@K No. It wasn’t the firefighter. I met the bf just after the firefighter while eating at a pizza shop. He was working on an organic farm for the summer and was looking for winter work so it worked out that he’d work at my winter job place. The guy is incredibly intense and I’m very much a laid back person so it’s been interesting. I’ve never been treated this well before so part of me is just waiting to wake up and have this not be real.
I just got back from my three day two night solo backpacking trip! I love this wilderness area and the trail was great but the uphill part is all on the way back with the last mile being the most intense but I made good time even with a heavy pack on and my legs and ass look amazing.TheHizzyNovember 9, 2017 at 9:02 am #726477Just wanted to say HAPPY THURSDAY EVERYONE!
The BF’s son was supposed to come out this weekend but they had to cancel. So I’m going to take him somewhere he’s been wanting to go since he’s moved here in May but is just really far away. We’ll make a day of it Saturday. He has no idea.
We’re also less than 10 days from going to Hawaii!
@TheLadyE, I used Matthew Hussey as my guide through dating & I also used Evan Marc Katz’s blog occasionally. I like them both but Matthew more as he helped me with texting the right thing + I find his videos funny ( see his satire of 50 Shades of Grey for instance) but on point. I feel making you laugh whilst being told were to improve is a good way to go. Also I have had a good partner now so all hail to good dating advice.
Ohh jealous of Kenya, otherwise known as Hawaii. 😉 Enjoy, @TheHizzy.
TheLadyENovember 9, 2017 at 11:34 pm #726568@Heatherly Thanks! I like him a lot too; a lot of what he says rings true to me. I’m going to take some more focused time this weekend and watch his videos. I appreciate your recommendation!
Who’s doing fun things this weekend? I have my 5th open mic and will probably take my dog on a little adventure on Sunday (it’s supposed to get down to freezing Saturday, which for NC this time of year is FREAKIN COLD). Work has been hugely stressful for me lately so I’m trying to remember it’s just a job and focus on my passions/hobbies and my dog instead for a few days. Can’t wait. 🙂
TheHizzyNovember 10, 2017 at 8:28 am #726594@Rangerchic – we are going to the Big Island too! We will be mostly in Hilo. I CAN’T WAIT! It’s a much needed vacation.
@TheLadyE woohoo on the open mic again! Things are progressing there. That’s exciting. I could never do that, more power to you! This weekend – since the kids aren’t coming – I’m taking the BF to this mural we haven’t been able to make it to since he’s moved for one reason or another. I’m trying to convince him to get this beautiful cranberry Christmas tree this weekend. He likes traditional, I like more out of the box. We’ll see how it goes.
Guys. I’m in a part of the country experiencing an “arctic blast” right now. Ugh. We seem to have completely skipped over autumn this year after several years of having PERFECT falls. Fall is my favorite season, so today’s snow is a little disheartening. I have a dinner with all my cousins who live in my city tonight, which should be fun. I’m trying a free Orange Theory class tomorrow cause I’ve been so curious about it, and have day one of puppy school with my dog. On Sunday, I’m going to a clean (like, the olympic lift) clinic at my gym, and then my dog and I are volunteering with my rescue at a home for seniors. I’ve been talking to a couple new guys from Tinder and might see if I can set up a first date this weekend, but won’t be sad if I spend my down time hibernating instead.
