It’s in the 20s here but feels like single-digit weather with the windchill. The snow has been coming down all morning, and it’s sticking. I truly think the worst part of our winters here is the lack of sunshine. I could more easily deal with this weather if I saw the sun more often November through February.
November 10, 2017 at 12:14 pm #726626The weather is all over the place. Snow one day, 70 the next. It’s so crazy! Fall is also my favorite season. Thankfully we have had some fall like days.
@TheHizzy – We will also be in Hilo for the most part of our vacation and on Kilo for just a couple of days. You’ll have to chime in when you return and tell me (all of us in the forums that is) all the things you enjoyed doing. I’ve already got a list of things we def want to see/do.Not much going on this weekend for us but I’m looking forward to seeing my family over Thanksgiving (but not looking forward to the 12 hr drive).
TheHizzyNovember 10, 2017 at 2:47 pm #726646Sure will @Rangerchic
Sunday-Wednesday we’ll be in Hilo and then Wednesday-Thursday we’ll be in Kona. So looking forward to it!
@TheHizzy I’d freeze to death if I worked in a building with no heat. I use a small space heater at my desk regularly, sometimes even in the summer. I’m always freezing cold in this building! They’re likely moving me to a different office around the corner next spring, though, and the offices along that hallway get great sunlight and therefore tend to be warm. I’m PUMPED. (Better view will be a bonus!)

@Copa
I am obsessed with Orange Theory. It is seriously the best, especially if you want an athlete’s workout. I’ve been doing it for about 2.5 months and just took my husband in for his free class this morning! I’ll be curious to see how you like it!
November 10, 2017 at 5:29 pm #726654What is Orange Theory? There is one here, near my house actually. I thought it was just a regular gym. I guess not?
TheRascalNovember 11, 2017 at 8:14 am #726669Orange Theory is a high intensity interval (treadmill, rowing, and strength) training studio. Your heart rate is monitored the entire time, with the goal of hitting 84% + your max heart rate for atleast 12 mins (what the studio calls the orange zone).
I like it because it’s going to the gym and having someone makeup the workout for you. It’s a challenging workout, small classes, really positive environment, and you only push as hard as you want. I always feel like a million bucks after a class!
*waves* hello again DW regulars. I think I just hit a new low point in “adventures in modern dating.” Met a guy a few weeks ago (in person, how novel!), hit it off pretty quickly, and have been on 4 dates. There’s a small voice in my head cynically wondering what the catch is. He’s one of the most attractive men I’ve ever met, has his life together, shares many interests and acts fairly into me. He’d initiated all of the previous dates, so I texted him a few days ago asking if he was free this weekend. He says he’ll be visiting his family out of town all weekend, but we should get together next week. I tell him to have a good trip and figure I’ll hear from him when he’s back in town. Lo and behold, I went for a run with a friend this morning and ran into him on the local jogging trail. He sees me and jumps off the trail to duck behind a bush. I call his name, give him my best smile, wave, and penetrating look, and keep running. He texts me a while later saying he was in a hurry and taking a shortcut to his car, which is patently untrue based on the part of the trail where I encountered him. I’m not going to dignify the bullshit with a response or contact him again. I’d rather find out that somebody is shitty early, so whatever, on with my life. Just…really? LITERAL running and hiding when caught in a lie.
KateNovember 12, 2017 at 1:58 pm #726737Well… yeah, that’s shitty that you caught him in a lie. But… he may not actually be a bad guy. Could be he is seeing a few women and he gave you the “out of town” excuse rather than say he’s got plans with other women. Which is fine. Or he’s in another relationship and you dodged a billet, idk. He probably won’t reach out after getting caught, but if he does, definitely ask him what the deal was, and maybe just don’t see him again.
