I mean, yeah, I guess he was probably trying to just do drinks and not extend the date, but whatever. The feeling was mutual…and he’s the one who asked me out, so…*shrug*.

A guy I went on one date with in, IDK, January(?) texted me asking if I can watch his dog while he goes on a work trip in a couple weeks. I’m unsure what to make of it.

@TheLadyE I’m super finicky about what I eat 2 days and the day before a race or competition of any sort. Lets be honest – I’m pretty finicky on what I eat all the time. I don’t like eating out and avoid it as much as possible. I know what my body works with and what it doesn’t. I wouldn’t even do alcohol the night before. So, I wouldn’t read into as a way to shorten the date necessarily. He should have scheduled the date better though.

And @Copa yeah….He’s trying to get free doggie care.

He offered to pay me. I’m mostly surprised he thought to ask me because I kinda forgot he existed.

Lord spare me entitled dickbags who put literally nothing into their interpersonal relationships but expect others to be free and willing to do for them.

You could earn some $$ then @copa if you wanted!

But seems like a total dick move on his part either way. Ball is in your court to earn some cash or say no. 🙂

You could dogsit and then eat all his food and wipe your hands on the couch and go through his medicine cabinet and stuff.

The ball is in your court to delete his message and not give him another thought.

I don’t even think it’s worth assigning him a title of dick bag. He probably just went through his phone contacts. (Was it a really bad or just a meh first date?)

I don’t think it’s a dick move. Not a big deal, just unexpected because I’d kinda forgotten about him and he wouldn’t have crossed my mind as a potential dog sitter for my own dog even if I’d gotten super desperate. In any case, I responded and said nope. Not a big deal. I had a nice enough time. I would’ve gone out again, but meeting him coincided with my realization that I have a cute, night neighbor who seemed interested. We texted a bit after the date. He wasn’t weird or a dick or a douche, he was actually quite nice, but I wasn’t too sad when it fizzled. It’s kinda hard for me to stay interested in a guy I met once for two hours when I’m more interested in someone I see regularly.
