Remember, you are on a set with forty people milling around. Looking back, tighter was more stessful for me. As it was a long take. Using a steadicam. So everything is really timed out to the second. Meaning I stand at the monitor watching the actress struggle and strain against the rope to free herself. The actress is REALLY selling it, too. So with each take I momentarily wonder if I goofed and did it TOO tight. Will she break character and say… “Uh, sorry, guys. I can’t get out of this in time.” But she NEVER does. 😉
    .
Duct tape is far less stressful than rope. As the duct tape I uses from the 99 Store LOOKS great on camera but is hilariously flimsy and not super sticky.

Hmmm alright, will only be tied up with dollar store duct tape for easy extraction. Add to shopping list.

I cannot even comprehend what -54 degrees feels like. It’s 40 where I am and the dogs and I skipped our morning exercise walk. (The have a grassy spot in the courtyard to use as a potty, so I’m not actually being gross!) We’re currently huddled in front of the fireplace. Good luck and stay warm and safe, everyone.

Unrelated to being tied up but related to dating: have any of you ever dated multiple people with the same first name? My recent ex-boyfriend has the same first name as my long-term ex from my early 20s. And I’ve just recently started dating another man with that same first name, back to back with my recent ex. It’s a pretty normal name but not the most popular by any means. I’m currently using a number system to help my friend’s with the confusion.

I’ve casually dated guys with the same name, but none of my more serious/longer relationships have had the same names. BG was the third guy in 2018 I’d been out with who had his same first name, haha. I don’t think it’d be confusing if they’re spread far enough apart in time or if you don’t talk to one of the past guys. My friend’s long-term boyfriend has the same name as one of her brothers, so sometimes I’ll have to ask, “Brother Matt?” or “Boyfriend Matt?” I know someone who dated two women back-to-back with the same first and middle name, but they went by different nicknames.

I date three guys in a 20 year span with the same birthday (so all my serious relationships), that was pretty odd, but made it super easy to remember. My wedding anniversary is the same as my ex and I (not married). That was just how the dates worked out and I even considered changing it but decided I wasn’t going to make my own life more difficult over something like that, plus, again, I never forget it.

Now I know which duct tape to use (or maybe not use) in case I need to bind someone…haha!

My husband and brother have the same name so my family reverted to calling my husband by his last name. It’s an easy short last name so it worked out but was kind of strange in the beginning!

However, none of the guys I ever dated had the same name (first, middle or last).

When I was a kid, I lived across the street from a woman who had been married to something like three men named “Jerry.” I thought it was really weird.

My brother’s ex-wife and his current wife have very similar names. It doesn’t happen anymore since they’ve now been together forever, but in the beginning, people would occasionally slip up and call his current wife the wrong name. I’m sure it annoyed her, but she just laughed about it and moved on.

We call my aunts husband John all the time, his name is Don, we just slip up since that is her exes name. He is pretty much the nicest human ever and just responds to both at this point. We of course feel bad and apologize but he just laughs.

To note the ex was an awful human who cheated on her which she became aware of in a very awful, permanent, way. Grrr.

Unrelated – to my weight lifting folks – I had a personal record yesterday.

140# snatch! Been chasing it for a couple years, finally landed it!

True story – I didn’t learn the OTHER definition of the word snatch until about 6 years ago when I was dating this ultra conservative dude. He explained it, I looked it up on urban dictionary and started reading it out loud laughing to myself in the privacy of his apartment. We went to the movies that night and I quietly was making jokes about it to him that only he could hear.

He later, after the movie, told me he’d be afraid to take me to a professional setting because I was a loose cannon. Mind you, he took me to a corporate event the week before. After the movies we went out for the night meeting up with friends, he asked me to stay the night. I told him he was bonkers to think things were going anywhere based on his lose cannon comment. Left, he tried to reach out but I just let it go.

This cannon wasn’t loose enough to stay with him!

We met this couple a few years ago on a trip. She thought he was going to propose on the trip, but she knew he had a lot of reservations about getting married again. His first two wives had both cheated on him with guys named Corey. Not sure if the wives had the same name too, but that would be awesome.

I had an colleague who did not know that “twat” had a different meaning from “Twit” and called a third party a “twat” at a work meaning.
