@JD it doesn’t get much better as they age. Early 20s future step-son made 5# of rice once.

140 chicken nuggets like from a fast-food restaurant? That’s such a waste of money because they won’t keep. Unless he’s going to eat 50 per day??

The sheets thing sounds about right for a teenage boy.

@TheHizzy I’ll have to check that out! Mac and cheese is like my downfall. I don’t make it often, I don’t order it off menus unless I go to Noodles & Co, but if I’m there and it’s there? Oooh yeah, baby, that’s the perfect marriage of events and it’s so tempting to me. Last night’s wasn’t even that good. Other than that, yesterday was still Whole30 compliant. I even found some compliant chips and nacho cheese at the store. (BG about lost his mind, haha. He’s been doing Whole30 and aside from a couple celebratory beers with a buddy who just found out he’s in remission, has been doing pretty well. He was super excited for a clean/compliant “cheat” last night.)

Ya we are baffled by the nugget thing. He works at McDonald’s now, which is great he got a job and is doing something. He said he got his discount but still bought them all. Best is he said he wanted to just leave them on the dining table until he ate them. Had to explain why that wasn’t happening.

5lbs of rice. I am cracking up. I feel like I should have a blog of weird things teenagers do.

I also got yesterday him taking his food out to the trash outside because the kitchen trash was full. You know, instead of just taking all the trash out AND his food trash. I mean, I was frankly just happy he put it in the trash rather than leave it out.

Also wanted to remind everyone that my dope neighbor that I “dated” last spring didn’t have soap in his bathroom. In his 30s. Some guys REALLY don’t get better.

Ah I love the no soap. My ex having a teenage sister was the best because there was always girl stuff. Razors, tampons, conditioner.

That 5# bag was in my fridge for a couple weeks. It started to smell, then I threw it out.

I brought up moving to FMH last night. I have been thinking about it for a while. It’d be 9-12 months off, but I’m thinking a move west might be in store.

Not sure how much to fruition those will come…but it’s fun to toss around ideas. I’ve been here for almost 7 years. Longest I’ve been somewhere in my adult life.

I’m cracking up at all the food! Teenagers are definitely strange. My daughters never really did that…the most they would do was hide the oreos or something. But then I had girls.

Future SS was making rice and he swore up and down he was making 2 cups of rice. We all knew it wasn’t 2 cups but he SWORE it was!

About a month later he goes “hey that’s what I used to measure my rice”

Quarts…..he measured out 2 QUARTS of DRY RICE and proceeded to make it.

OMG – that is so funny!! So much rice. I’m sure he won’t make that mistake again though.

Ya I think the boy part is traumatizing me. I am for sure not used to them considering growing up an only child. We finally told him to do his “special time” in his room as we can get about 5 showers in usually but he will use all the water in 1. A lot less caring about overall appearance and hygiene as well, which I have read a lot about and apparently that is fairly normal, within reason. He actually argued once that not brushing his teeth isn’t a big deal because he knows plenty of people with no teeth. I thought my husbands head was going to explode when he heard that one. For the record, I know zero people with no teeth (with the exception of people I see around here and those who have dentures…and he has only lived here a year and a half, in the land of no teeth being acceptable.) We figured the hygiene part would take a turn when he starts liking someone (as pretty much every website and person I know have said that seemed to be the catalyst) but so far that hasn’t happened, I think he will be a later bloomer in that regard, which is fine, but I was looking forward to the cleaner kid.
