Fun fact: we rent our backyard to the restaurant next door to us and they throw weddings back there at least every other week. I can sit on my bed, which overlooks the garden, and see and hear everything out the window (without anyone seeing me). I took notes on wedding toasts since I had to give one a few weeks ago at my bff’s wedding, and I love seeing what everyone wears and the different ways different cultures celebrate (last week there was an asian wedding, the week before that a lesbian wedding, and the week before that a Jewish wedding). Some of the weddings are around brunch time, most are late afternoon/early evening. Almost no one gets a chair.
@BGM it may have stung a little bit at first but I truly did appreciate your perspective. That’s the point of this community and I’m not above admitting I was wrong.
Also I’ve stood at weddings and I’ve sat at weddings. As long as I’m not standing for a 2 hour long religious ceremony, I’m on board for whatever the bride and groom wants.
July 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm #847690This has been an interesting topic to be following! (Insert Michael Jackson popcorn gif.) I’m SO glad you and SIL talked it out and that things are working out!!! Whew!!
Add me as one who would love to attend a brunch wedding followed by wine tasting. That sounds so fun!
Also, I went to a Russian Orthodox wedding which was like, 1.5 hours long and we stood almost the entire time. I wished I had known, I would have worn more comfortable shoes…LisforLeslieJuly 10, 2019 at 2:31 pm #847695@Veri – I think you just found out that you have a sit-com family: Sometimes confusion causes misunderstandings* and you can usually resolve the issue in about a 1/2 hour. This is awesome news.
I love the idea of a brunch wedding.
*Life would have been so much easier for Jack, Janet and Chrissy if they just got a little whiteboard for the front door: “Took the rent money to Mr. Roper. See you guys at the Beagle – Jack”
