I hope everyone had a lovely holiday. I have a wedding update! Or more of a family dynamics update.

On Christmas Eve we spent the evening with MofV’s family and extended family. (I love his Aunt) We found out that sister has never moved in with her fiancée, their lease started I think right after Thanksgiving, and they didn’t speak for almost two weeks after he left her hanging on a bill for the wedding or apartment.

We didn’t’ get any other details. But I’m glad we didn’t move our wedding date because at this point I don’t’ know if her wedding is going to happen. She seemed very sad on Christmas eve and I actually felt bad for her.

Otherwise it a was a nice quiet holiday other than having to put down my dog I’ve had for 12.5 years. That was a really, really hard day.

Thank you Cleo. That dog was my baby. It’ll be two weeks tomorrow and damn I miss him. He was the best.

I know this doesn’t belong here. But I’m dining at a neighborhood bar and totes love the white and mostly white dude talking about racists and virtue signaling and layover relationships (wtf?)right next to me. Oh, and they’ve paid their bill and drinks empty for 30+ minutes. Now they’re talking about wasps. Not the insect. One totally is. Ugh.

    I’m out.

I’m so sorry about your dog, Veritek. As you know I went through that this year and it is the hardest thing I’ve been through in my life. Ever. I’m so, so sorry.

Getting caught up on this thread now that I’ve had to re-join society and am back at work.

@MG, I’m so sorry! I hope you are doing okay!

@Veritek Your future SIL sounds like a divorce waiting to happen. Yikes! I don’t feel all that bad for her. And honestly, it’s probably for the best if they break off the engagement rather than having to go through a divorce. You’ll have to keep us updated!

I had two pretty relaxing weeks off work. Learned I don’t do well without structure and routine, but it was really nice to have a break from work. I’m glad I was able to (mostly) leave work at work throughout. My work pants are definitely a little snug today, though!

BG and I are hoping to go on a warm weather vacation at the end of February to escape the cold, if anyone has any recommendations of where to go!

Ver sorry about your dog 🙁

Copa: I’ve heard good things about Tulum and Puerto Vallerta if you’re looking at Mexico, but I would also say look to Portugal! Might be a touch early there, but ya never know.

So sorry about your dog, @Ver. I had to say good-bye to one of my dogs (she was 16) earlier this year and it just sucks.

As for somewhere warm in February, @Copa, I recommend Key West.
