    Beautiful Ver!

Ok well it’s a little hard without making you reveal too much of where you are going in terms of restaurants etc, but if you are going to Niagara Falls, the area Niagara-on-the-Lake is our wine destination! You will need a car and it’s still 30-45 min from the Falls but it’s really lovely.

We did the canadian maritimes for our babymoon last summer and it was fabulous. Lots of hiking and seafood.

RadioStar and Materialsbaby and I are going to white castle on Friday for valentines. Then dessert and wine at home once she’s asleep.

    Thanks friends 🙂

Hfantods – we will be driving from the Midwest which might be a nightmare but Niagra is the general area. And you’re speaking my language with wine here….

@veritek33 Oooh Niagara on the lake (the actual town) is really pretty, super colonial in nature due to the history there between the USA and Canada. There are plenty of wineries along that area (inniskillin and Peller estate are a favorite). There is an area near the butterfly conservatory (another place to check out) called Niagara Glen Nature Center, my family and I would always go there and take the large set of metal stairs down to do a walk along the river. Gorgeous topography, and gets you right up close to the river. A neat way to experience the river area and see where the falls used to be (large boulders are left behind as remnants of where the falls were as they traveled and eroded away the valley). You can basically hit up a bunch of the wineries as you travel from Niagara on the lake to Niagara falls, the butterfly conservatory and the Nature center. If you do go see the falls, definitely do it, there is a touristy area that takes you to some pretty ridiculous places, so if you are into that great, otherwise avoid it. I would stay closer to Niagara on the Lake, the houses and neighborhoods are much nicer. My two cents 😛

Oh man that dress is so unusual and vintage pretty, I bet it goes nice with your hair.

I feel like Kath & Kim when they’re all ‘it’s noice, it’s different, it’s unyewsual’ (which is peak Aussie humour for those who have no idea what I’m on about).

Love the dress, @Veritek! I like the details and vintage look. And that plunging neckline 😮

So Canada. I’m dying to visit Banff and think I’d also enjoy Vancouver. I have a good friend in Toronto and visit regularly and really enjoy it. I’ve never been to Niagara on the Lake, but my friend in Toronto goes just about every summer and I’ve heard nothing but great things. If you pass through the Chicago area on your way into Canada, hit me up! I love showing people this city, but now that I’ve been here for several years, don’t have as many visitors.

We went out to dinner for V-day last night, since Friday night everything is booked up/prix fixe/$$$$. We usually don’t go out to eat for V-day because our dating anniversary is 2 weeks prior. But we didn’t celebrate that this year because we were out of town visiting his mom and sister, and now we have a wedding anniversary so I don’t know if we’ll still celebrate the dating one. On the actual V-day we’re going to get pizza for dinner from a pizza food truck that occasionally is at the brewery around the corner – it’s going to be there on Friday. I rented Parasite on Amazon so I hope we can watch that Friday night also.

I went to Niagara-on-the-Lake a few years ago and it was so cute!

Update: we went to see 1917 and honestly? We thought it was a snoozefest. We had a fun time making fun of it, though.

One great thing was that we saw the trailer for the (new) movie version of my favorite book, Emma (by Jane Austen) and my boyfriend said it looked really good. This is NOT a guy who likes romantic dramas. He says “I didn’t know Jane Austen wrote comedies!” OMG. He has so much to learn. I’m so excited to take him to the movie. I’ve never dated a man who would willingly watch Jane Austen with me. <3

On the downside, he started getting sick on our night out and has to work tomorrow so he’s upstairs asleep while my Valentine’s lingerie is hanging in the bathroom and I am posting on DW. Lol. But ah well. 🙂

I had a great time at my galentine’s event last night and it made me wish the real holiday was celebrating friendships. Hungover today because wine and chocolate apparently doesn’t make for a great dinner. Who knew?
