trust me once I am out of school and in a more secure location work wise I fully intend to invest in my own garage gym. I do like the idea of not having to share equipment and wait around for people. Also, no commute!
I did attend a couple PT sessions this summer due to a foot and shoulder injury that had been persisting. I also got a massage recently due to some pain and discomfort while weight lifting in my lower back.
November 12, 2020 at 12:25 pm #964328best of luck MG, my cousin had her first baby this year in March/April and they said they kept it very swift and fast the time she was there to avoid her in the hospital for too long. She had no complications luckily so it worked out.
I’ve had bad muscle pain in my lower back on and off (I think from certain workouts with weights), and found that stretches do the trick. I just looked on YouTube and found good stuff. Earlier this year when we were still in the office I’d go in the yoga/meditation room that you could lock the door, and do some stretches. Seated cat & cow in particular always loosened it up.
November 12, 2020 at 12:52 pm #964332All I do with mine is stretches and workouts that are targeted to strengthening back and neck muscle groups. My posture and mobility are remarkably better. I was doing stuff from YouTube for years and while it helped sometimes, I was having serious neck issues and on muscle relaxants constantly.
I have some simple exercises/stretches from my Pilates instructor that I do on my own. I’m hoping a PT can build on what I’m doing with her. Hopefully figuring out what’s really wrong and a more targeted approach.
So I basically want what you have anonymousse.
Yeah, like this time, I was putting on my yoga pants to walk to the grocery store and all of a sudden, my back stiffens and I can’t move. I feel it kind of give out, I don’t know how to better to describe it. Then I’m unable to do much for 4 – 5 days. I can stand. I can lie down. Sitting makes it worse. It sucks!! Yesterday was the first day since Saturday I felt semi ok.
@hfantods The boyfriend and I started our “cook the world” last weekend and it was super fun! He mentioned recently he wanted to get take-out from a restaurant we went to maybe a year or so ago that “specializes” in a pretty specific Japanese dish that’s very hard to find in the U.S. Turns out they voluntarily closed for the winter to keep their staff and patrons safe. Anyway, we made a run to an Asian grocery store and bought everything we need to make it at home and some craft Japanese beer. It was so fun and dinner was excellent. I asked him where he wants to “go” next and we decided we want to stay in Asia for awhile, haha. I don’t know if we can make this happen weekly without frequent trips to specialty stores, but thank you for the great idea — I’m gonna have fun with it this winter.
