@veritek.. if you have a dermatologist, I recommend asking for some scripts. I’ve been on azelaic acid and it’s been great for brown spots and keeping my face nice (and it’s safe for bfing). There is another thing they can give you too for breakouts (i think it starts with a “C”)
I’m still on prenatals and breastfeeding, but yeah.. it was like another person was in the shower with me on the days I washed my hair. So. Much. Fall.
I got addicted to watching mixed makeup during nighttime feeds…

Ooh Veritek – I would love to hear what you think of Prose. I am always searching for my new favorite hair care! I have a haircut scheduled next week (last cut was in October, and the one before that was in January 2020…yeah).

Guys, I need t-shirt help. All of my tees have developed those little holes where it rubs against the front of my pants. I so rarely even wear real pants these days! Arrghh!! My criteria:

Sturdy enough to not get those damn holes/not be see-through
    Comes in multiple colors
    Longer-ish length (hip or lower)
Not too tight/clingy, not too boxy

I have a bunch of a brand I found on Nordstrom Rack, Susina, and I really like the fit but they all got the holes. If anyone has found a unicorn of a simple t-shirt, please tell me your secrets!

Wait a minute, how are they getting the holes? Just from rubbing against the fabric of jeans? Did/would you ever do the “French tuck,” where you tuck just a little bit of the front of the shirt into your pants?

Yeah, I think that’s how the holes have happened – rubbing against buttons/fabric. I’m doing a bit of French tuck today because I didn’t notice this shirt had holes before I left the house, haha! Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. But I’d kind of prefer to not have to worry about it either way. I actually do come in to work a couple of days a week, but my workplace is super casual (lab) so t-shirts and jeans are the norm. I just want to have NICE basic tees with no holes! I’ve gotten some from Boden that I liked in the past, but had the same issue. Most of these shirts are the “slub cotton” type – I like that they are lighter weight without being sheer, but maybe that’s contributing to the problem.

Can not help you – I always get holes because I snag them when I zip up my pants.

I get my tees from Land’s End – they have a few different styles and are decently weighted. And their sales are pretty decent.

I’m a fan of JCrew’s Vintage Cotton t’s. Those, swimsuits and shorts are really the only things I buy from JCrew because they hold up.

Although I just checked and it looks like they no longer have my preferred style, the scoopneck. But there is a V and a crew.

Oh man the tiny holes at the bottom of the shirt. I have those in a lot of my shirts. I was so frustrated as I don’t wash them with jeans ever, and so can only assume the same issue, just rubbing/friction.

I have also managed to bleach some of my shirts from Old Navy, the colors have run on two of my shirts. I don’t use bleach though! Just unscented laundry liquid detergent. So annoying. Have seen it as well on my bed sheets, which may be more associated with heat burns from the dryer. Regardless, ruined.

Guys, this Fashion Pass rental clothes subscription… most things I’ve gotten still have the tags on, brand new. If you want to keep something, there’s a good discount, AND you earn credits for purchases and for posting reviews, so you end up getting new clothes for like half off. I’m on Cape Cod for the weekend and just threw the package that came on Friday into my tote bag. I had an outfit on last night and a waitress who wasn’t even serving us came over to say she loved my top and where did I get it. My family was also raving about the whole outfit. It’s great also since I’m in the process of losing pandemic weight (6 lbs down, several more to go), so I can order stuff that’ll fit now and not keep it if it will be too big later.

This sounds gross but I wish they had swimsuits. I’d totally rent swimsuits from here because they’d likely be brand new, but even if not they’d be sanitized. I can’t find any cute swimsuits to buy this year for some reason. Nothing is jumping out at me.

So I’ve never tried their T-shirts, but I’ve heard good things about Madewell’s. A new Madewell just opened a few blocks away from me and I actually went in and tried on a pair of jeans, which I’d also heard good things about. I was a size smaller there than my norm. The fit of the pair I tried was great but the rise was too high for me. I’m on the petite side. Their shorter inseam was great but I don’t need jeans with an 11” rise.

A “lifestyle blogger” I follow recently showed a great one piece swimsuit from J. Crew. She’s mid-sized and it’s super flattering on her. My boyfriend’s family is having a pool party next month and I might order it to see if it works as well for me. I’d like a new suit that I feel more confident in for the summer while I shed my pandemic weight.

I’ve been wearing Madewell jeans for years. I like them. They hold up. I like their jeans and leather products. There’s one in the West Loop, but it’s so small. I much prefer the one on Rush. Although now I can order on-line and return super easy at the West Loop location, my preferred method of shopping. I like trying on clothes at home and returning to a store.

I also solely purchase JCrew swimsuits. They hold up too.

Def need to try this clothes thing @kate. Especially for vacations. Just booked a weekend getaway for August with one of my girlfriends.

It’s perfect for vacations because you can pick exactly the things for that week that you’d want to bring on a trip, depending on the weather forecast, like dress/romper/jumpsuit, shorts, tops, sunglasses, earrings/necklace. If you want more items that week than your package permits, you can rent more items for $11.99 each.

That’s really good! I always like new clothes in trips. Makes me feel good, for whatever reason.

Years ago, we did a cruise so I did RTR for dresses. It was a lot of fun.
