Dermatologists recommend using mineral SPF sunscreen over the chemical sunscreens, I have heard good things about blue lizard, which is an Australian brand of face and body sunscreen.
I have battled with the cost though of mineral based sunscreen due to quantity and cost you pay. But I think for the skin and environmental benefits I will be looking into some new purchases this year.
My pilates instructor had her 2nd baby yesterday and is on maternity leave for the next three months. We were doing virtual classes for the entire pandemic.
Is there an app or classes any of you are taking that you really like? I work out on my own, but I’d like to incorporate some classes too.
January 17, 2022 at 1:34 pm #1101917I also ordered the lash serum that @Kate recommended. It arrived yesterday and I used it last night. Can’t wait to see if it improves my lashes at least a little!
@Ktfran – I use fitness blender at home workouts. It’s not really a class though. They are instructional videos. Not really a lot of pilates stuff but I enjoy the cardio/HIIT and strength workouts a lot. I recently joined their plus program (more video selection) and it used to just be a husband and wife team but they have been adding a lot of other new instructors. Some are doctors of PT and have some unique stretching videos. Lots of various types of workouts now!I think I mentioned before here, other people noticed my lashes when I started using that serum. My aunt was like “what did you do to your lashes???” And the girl who shampoos my hair asked me too.
I’ve gotten it in my eye before too and cringed but nothing happened, no stinging or anything.
They say it works on eyebrows too.
So I like the La Roche Posay balm so far. I’ve used it the past few nights in a row and feel like it’s helping with redness, which I regularly deal with to varying degrees. It’s super thick, heavier than what I am used to (though in all fairness I am applying pretty liberally) but not in a way that I find off-putting as someone who hates feeling like there’s product on her face. Going to finish the tube before deciding if I’d repurchase but so far so good.
The lash serum packaging said 3-4 weeks for visible results, so we’ll see on that front.
January 18, 2022 at 12:45 pm #1101941La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 is amazing and what i use on my kids’ faces when they have wind burn or eczema flare ups. I use it over all my retinols etc when my face is getting super dry.
This is the daily sunscreen moisturizer i use from laroche.
https://www.laroche-posay.us/our-products/face/face-moisturizer/toleriane-double-repair-facial-moisturizer-with-spf-3337875545846.htmlI’ll have to try the Milk one for beach/full sun days.
So.. my eyedoctor got me a prescription for something that i am now 100% in love with. Not sure if I’ve mentioned before that one of my eyes has been drooping the last few years and its affecting how i look and see. Short of plastic surgery, there were no options. UNTIL THIS SUMMER!!
https://www.americanboardcosmeticsurgery.org/news/upneeq-fda-approved-eye-lifting-drops/IT”S AMAZING. It’s a game changer! i no longer look lopsided (for most of the day anyway), tired etc. and i can see!
January 18, 2022 at 6:13 pm #1101956@allornone.. yes! you can ONLY get it through the pharmacy the drug company created specifically for it, but they’re super nice. I did a manual claim with my insurance, and it SHOULD be eligible for at least part of the $$, but it’s AWESOME.
a 90 day supply is now just under $300. you don’t have to use it every day but.. i almost always do. and i have contacts and no problems with it
