Let me know how you like your The Ordinary products after you’ve gotten a feel for them, @hfantods! I use the hyaluronic acid and like it. I have yet to find a vitamin C that feels like my holy grail product so curious to know your thoughts on that one specifically. Right now I’m using I think CeraVe vitamin C serum and like the rest that I’ve tried, it’s fine.
I haven’t found a vitamin c serum that really stands out either for effectiveness (hard to tell because I use multiple products with different benefits) but the new Olay one with Peptides feels and smells very nice. TruSkin naturals from Amazon seems good too.
Sure! Right now I am using a small bottle of LRP Vitamin C. I think it has brighten my skin and it has a nice texture. But it is $$ so I hope The Ordinary will do.
I’m taking Omega 3 fish oil pills daily. It’s the one thing my dad who is a doctor has recommended. It’s the first time I’ve taken it consistently and I think my nails are stronger.
I take a daily multivitamin, magnesium, and a probiotic daily as far as supplements go. The probiotic I know helps me. The other two, not as sure, but they don’t hurt.
I’ve been curious to try the Sunday Riley vitamin C serum — have heard good things from derms I follow online and read good reviews — but the price tag is up there so I’m not sure I can justify it unless I find it on sale. I think I’m still a couple months away from finishing what I have.
Also, I finally got a set of long barrels for my air wrap. I got the smaller size. The larger barrel is still out of stock. But it makes a huge difference to have the long ones!
KateFebruary 21, 2022 at 12:24 pm #1102775I have tried Sunday Riley products (Good Genes, CEO, and the blue retinol night oil) and liked the feel and smell, but I didn’t keep buying them because I really didn’t see any noticeable results above and beyond the stuff I was already using. If you’re using a good exfoliator, C, retinol, SPF, and appropriate moisturizer already, I don’t know that the pricey Sephora skin care does anything additional but be aesthetic. That said, I have what I think is pretty well-balanced and not sensitive or problematic skin.
March 4, 2022 at 3:06 pm #1103082Lately I’ve been using the Cerave Skin Renewing cream and it’s delightful. The box claims to make your skin appear more awake or alive or something and it does! I no longer resemble a zombie. The texture feels thick but I like it.
That makes sense because it has retinol as well as peptides and ceramides.
Key Ingredients:
Encapsulated retinol in a timed-release formula provides mild exfoliation and improves visible signs of aging without irritation
Biomimetic peptides improve the appearance of tired-looking skin
Ceramides help restore and maintain the skin’s natural barrier
Hyaluronic acid attracts hydration to the skin’s surface and helps skin retain moisture
Niacinamide helps calm the skin
MVE Technology, a patented delivery system, continually releases moisturizing ingredientsMarch 8, 2022 at 12:10 pm #1103166I’ve started using a vitamin C serum and a the LaRouche Posay dark spot per your advice and I’m seeing a difference after about three weeks now. I was already using eye cream, a night oil, moisturizers, a toner, and SPF, but the addition of the C has taken things up a notch (I’m not noticing a change in the dark spots yet but Ill give it a bit more time). I also added the essy lash serum but don’t notice any change yet.
March 8, 2022 at 2:42 pm #1103170What Vitamin C serum does anyone use or recommend?
March 8, 2022 at 3:58 pm #1103173Oh, I forgot about retinol. Shit, I’m already putting six or seven things on my face every morning!
March 8, 2022 at 3:59 pm #1103174I really like Glo products and that’s the Vitamin C serum I got. I’m sure others have good recommendations, too.
