A little girl with a tote that says Slay would be adorable.
Well this person is a longtime friend, not just a coworker, but I agree!
We have never worked at the same place before. Today I was on the 2nd floor looking at the snacks and I heard her voice. I whipped around and my lips were pursed to yell “biiiiitch!” But you can’t do that there, and she was with two women on her team. She told me she was going to yell bitch at me too and had to stop herself.
Ha!
The nephew is turning six this weekend and I got him poop bingo. I can’t wait for him to open. His dad is gonna hate it. I did tell my sis though.
His party theme is Birds of Prey. I may have bought a ‘merica bald eagle tee to wear.
I love being an aunt and also being ridiculous.
I didn’t know about the ironic totes, but they immediately reminded me of one of my cousins. I followed the link to the Instagram account linked in the Harper’s Bazaar article and of course this cousin is already following. If I can think of something fitting to stitch on there, it’d be a great Christmas gift. Or even a “just because” gift.
I’d LOL if I heard two workers greet each other with “BIIIITCH” in a common area at work.
I finally made a consult appointment to see a cosmetic dermatologist. Not totally sure what will come out of it. I just want to ask an actual derm what I can be doing and specifically want to ask about my under eye circles, which I’d say is the only real insecurity I have about how I look. And even then it’s not a huge insecurity. I look tired, which I notice when I put myself together in the mornings, but I don’t think about it after that. But if there’s an rx topical cream I could add to my routine or even a minimally invasive/cost conscious treatment, I’d like to know. The practice offers medical, cosmetic, and esthetician services. She’s so booked up that the first available consult is in the second half of November!
AnonymousseAugust 24, 2022 at 11:02 am #1113078I also jumped on the basic b bandwagon and got my little rose pink north face fanny pack a while back. I love it. I wear it cross body or back style like those cool early aughts sling backpacks (anyone remember?) I carry my $, lip balm, an inhaler and my phone. That’s it. It feels nice not to have a sore shoulder from a giant tote.
I’m driving.
It’s so nice to give your shoulder a break!! And you realize that you need much less shit than you’d pack in a tote. And yes, the biitch… thing would CRACK ME UP! I wouldn’t think twice about it. But my work is a little more relaxed. People throw around F-bombs all the time.
Copa, who are you going to? Or I guess what place. My girlfriend loves this place on Southport (main Southport corridor area). She’s really happy w/ her person there. She’s had a few minor things done, including around her eye area, and she looks natural!!
Speaking of derms…. i’m completely distraught. I have red spots ALL OVER my body. I’ve had them for about 5 weeks and they keep spreading. After the first week, I went to my doctor’s office. I had to see a different dr. because mine was on vacation. She’s like, IDK. Wait and see if they get better on their own. A week and a half passed. They weren’t getting better. I called back and talked to my actual dr. She referred me to two dermatologist, one of which could get me in about a week later. The other wouldn’t see me until Sept. Anyway, so last week I went to the derm. She didn’t know what was up w/ my skin either. It’s definitely NOT bed bugs or any kind of bug. Thank god. I don’t itch. I don’t have a fever or any other signs of illness. So she biopsied me. We’re waiting results. I just want to know!!!! It’s probably something viral, but I haven’t felt sick so I dunno. Luckily, they haven’t reached my face yet, knock on wood. I have been wearing long sleeves if I have to go out because I’m so embarrassed and I don’t want to scare people from my arms.
Conrad Peterson Dermatology, which was recommended by an acquaintance who said the doctor she sees there has a very “less is more” approach and will bluntly tell you if she doesn’t think something will work for you. Which sounds up my alley as far as these things go. While I’m not totally sure what procedures I’d opt into at the end of the day, I prefer a board-certified dermatologist’s office over some of the medspa places I know some friends go to. (They’ve all had good experiences with facials, laser treatments, and even Botox at these places but… IDK, I just feel better going this route.) What’s the place on Southport? That’d be super close to me.
The only time I’ve ever broken out with red spots like that is after having an allergic reaction to medication/skin products (specifically sunscreen… thankfully it never spread to my face when that happened because the rest of my body was a mess for a couple weeks after that one). I hope you figure out what’s going on soon!
AnonymousseAugust 25, 2022 at 9:06 am #1113091I hope you’re okay, Ktfran. I hope you get it figured out. It’s good you’re feeling well.
I have incredibly weird reactive skin, rosacea prone. I’m sure there’s some strange medical term that translates to “pale mixed European skin.” I get hives all over my neck and chest when I have panic attacks or feel even slightly emotional.
