The own home/car thing is so annoying! I went out a couple of times with someone who was surprised that I owned both a car and a condo. Admittedly, at the time I was totally underemployed (working part-time in a bookstore while job hunting) after I’d lost my job in banking but I was 40…it shouldn’t have been that much of a surprise. I found it kind of sexist, actually.

I got the brush too! It was in Winners (Canadian TJ Maxx) and $20 cheaper than anywhere else. It does a great job…and I’ve only burned myself 2X. 🙂

I’m so late, but I just wanted to chime in to say that I’m sorry for the loss of your furball, @kare. It’s never easy. Jedi hugs if you want them.

Not so much a date per se, but a dating thing…

Being as one of my love languages is words, I put on my big girl panties and told the gentleman friend how I felt about him this weekend. I let him know that I had no agenda, which was true, and that since I am a woman of words I just wanted to tell him how I felt.

His feelings? Not as strong. Cue sad trombone.

He did say that he is happier with me in his life than not, which is good. And he didn’t just say “thanks” which is also good. We are continuing on as we have been. I’m just alternating between feeling brave and like an idiot. 😀

I just bought these and they are really comfortable! And kind of clunky/cute?

THeir flats are kind of on the sporty side, but super comfy!

I like a wedge heel…gives a bit of a lift but feels better than a heel.

It might be an interesting week here in small town BC…my gentleman friend is coming to the final performance of the community concert band that I perform in (yes, band geeks never die, they just get old) and will end up meeting my mom, brother, sister in law, and some of my friends from my dragon boat team. He has made it clear that we are exclusive but not official (WTF that means, but whatever) so I will be curious to see how he reacts to being introduced as my “friend”.

I empathize with you all, because I have been there! Even with a gentleman caller I still don’t have plans for this holiday weekend (July 1 is Canada Day) because he made plans for pretty much every weekend this month before we started seeing each other. 🙁 Looks like it is fireworks again with my mom this year.

Well, it is official. I have gone exclusive with my gentleman caller. 🙂 No one is rushing to introduce each other to our parents or anything, but it turns out that we had both already deactivated our online accounts and stopped looking. I have to say, I am pretty happy about this…it’s been literally years since i had an exclusive relationship.

So much happening! I am glad some of it is good and exciting. @Stonegypsy I jave many internet hugs for you if you want them.

So, its only been a month but I am pretty sure the guy and I are going to have a DTR talk tomorrow. I have been out of town for a week and we really missed each other. He is one of those door opening, flower bringing kind of gentlemen which is so nice. I have been ghosted so much i was considering an exorcist!

So, scary amd exciting times up here in small town BC.

I decided that a solo trip to Iceland was a bucket list thing for me…I told my be stir and now we are going together! Hopefully 2017 we will be going to Glasgow with an Iceland stopover.

Get this…I had a date! I went against my nature and contacted this guy on POF because his profile made me laugh. We had a week of probably way too much texting and met for a drink on Sunday night. We ended up closing out the pub and then making out like teenagers in the parking lot. Very fun, especially considering that we are both in our mid 40s.

I have come across my share of flakes as well. As much as it was disappointing, it was also oddly satisfying to tell them that I didn’t have the bandwidth to do all the chasing, or to have essentially a pen-pal relationship. That I liked them, and if they found themselves in a better place in the future (time-wise, emotion-wise, whatever) to get in touch and if I was single, I’d be happy to get together. Weirdly empowering.

I love lazy all-inclusives, BTW. I also found cheerful attempts to speak a few Spanish words as well as tipping always made the experience better. (Up here in the Great White North, we rarely learn Spanish in high school)

MissDre, I hope you have an awesome time on Friday!
