All this talk of cemeteries reminds me of a story:
Back when I was 18, my friend and I snuck into a cemetery at night that had reports of being haunted. Half of the cemetery was old, and half of it was newer. We walked around the old part for a while, and when we were ready to leave, I noticed my cell phone was missing. As we searched through the cemetery we kept hearing this weird whirring noise and we couldn’t figure out where it was coming from.
We got closer to the ‘new’ side of the cemetery and saw this pinwheel spinning rapidly on top of one of the grave markers. It was making the whirring noise we had been hearing. The speed seemed a bit odd, because it was a very still night. So, out of curiosity, I went over to the pinwheel and stuck my hand right next to it. There was no breeze, and no reason the pinwheel should have been spinning that quickly. My friend and I were convinced it was a ghost, and as we kept searching for my phone, I got frustrated and annoyed with the noise. So I said, “Stop!”
It did.
I became scared, and I said, “Okay, you can start again!” And, lo and behold, immediately the pinwheel started furiously spinning.
Thankfully, we found my cell phone soon after and got the heck out of there.
And that is the story of the time I snuck into a graveyard and encountered a paranormal pinwheel.
Here’s my Passions synopsis:
Everyone was in love with everyone else, but couldn’t be together because Reasons. And there was a witch, her doll that came to life (RIP Timmy), and epic battles of good and evil. It was the best soap opera because it was so all over the place, crazy, and highly entertaining. This thread reminded me of it, actually.
