October 23, 2017 at 12:41 pm #724953I pretty much dated engineers or more analytical people. First husband was an engineer but not a frat guy (although he did live in a house with 8 guys), but he had that ‘charming’ characteristic which was, in reality, narcissism and general asshattery. college boyfriend was business but ROTC and fraternity dude. Also charming. total sweetheart though and owned his douchey-ness (almost made it comedic).
RadioStar: also engineer and was in a fratnerity (I was in a sorority, but again, we were both at nerd-schools), so he’s more of the responsible fraternity guy. He has the charming and fun personality but rounds it out well with loyalty and honesty. If I had met him 10 years ago, he may not have been the right person for me, but with some life behind him, it works well.

Christmastime seems to be one of those assessing times. Similar thing in my situation too. It was more of a hypothetical discussion of what this is, are we happy, where is this going. HE was definitely more ready than I was, but for moving in and such i had said, if i’m moving in, i want marriage to be planned and/or right around the corner. The discussion came up because i needed to renew my lease and 6 months felt too short.. 1 year was a bit long, so we said.. okay, 9 months. by month 6 (Christmas), I thought about it more and said “okay i’m ready to plan something.” so we sat at a bar in January and planned out how we wanted to get married, what all that looked like, time line etc. Moved in together in May, married in June. Conversations were always with the mindset of this is where we hope it will go, but not always strict? until i was ready. so i get it.
August 28, 2017 at 9:52 am #698531excited to read about all the fun dates!!
Also, I’ve really really wanted to do Axe-throwing as well 🙂
Trixy: ugh i know that feeling. Definitely had a friend like that in high school that i was totally in love with, but.. he ended up dating this Freshman. Finally after years and years of back and forth and drama and just ugh.. we started to ‘see each other’ one summer i was home from college. It was intense, but not a match physically or really time wise. I ended up kinda throwing him away and returning to life back at college after summer ended. Unfortunately that was the end of our friendship too. but i understand that intellectual intensity. it’s so stimulating and intimate, but… when it’s not the whole package it’s like waiting to climax and being “RIGHT THERE” and then.. wahwah
