Not yet @Anonymouse! I will see if I can find some, thanks for the tip!
It was a bit too sweet, it was onion gravy.
You think @jlyfsh? Recycling isn’t as prevalent here as it is in the US but I make us do it all the same. You can’t give electronics, working or broke, to charity shops either… But it’s worth a shot to take to the recycling place, I shall attempt do to so this weekend! Eco Warrior ROAR.
Do you recycle Sarah B?
@Ktfran – mine is a crappy one… Or was. It lasted years, I just feel really weird about throwing all that plastic into a garbage dump somewhere. I’m currently holding onto it, there’s a recycling place near to us but the Cockney thinks they’ll laugh at me if I come in with my sad old blowdryer. $150!?! You definitely SHOULD write to them, it might still be under manufacturer warranty?
@RedRover! Samesies!! I LOVE mashed new potatoes with skins on. Also get some raw green onions in there and sour cream and season salt on top and I’m pretty much the happiest girl in all the land. Man, I want that now but I should really have some veggie stir fry tonight.
Yeah, I think it’s something to do with the way our societies are set now: We took some stuff to the charity shop last week and the Cockney saw a funny mug, which sparked a discussion about how it’s actually cheaper to buy a new thing than to spend your limited time repairing the old one. I find this highly problematic actually… My blowdryer crapped out the other day and I’m having a hard time convincing myself to just throw it out.
What do you think about the consumerist nature of our current society Sarah B?
Huh, where I’ve been is working in a kitchen – when I first got to London I had to use this ricer that had a handle that you spun around? And I always had to rice them twice, that’s the reason for my trepidation. I’m looking into handheld ricer like you’ve got now, it seems much better so thanks!
I’ve tentatively decided to become a vegetarian. It’s only been a week but it’s going pretty well so far, just trying to keep up my protein from other sources. It’s something I’ve thought about for a long time and realised I just have to try and see how it goes.
Sarah b, calling people names isn’t a sign of maturity. Neither is telling us all how mature you are. How many other adults do you see shouting about how mature they are?
Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s been a year already. Sarah B, while I commend you for realising your boss was behaving abhorrently I do not believe that you are in college currently or previously. OR! It is possible that you are a tremendous troll and if so, I’d like to congratulate you again on keeping it up for a year. You deserve some kind of award for internet douchery.
I’m not very good at mashed potatoes, because I hate the actual mashing bit. Well I don’t mind it but the Cockney is a NO LUMP kind of guy. I just put in some cabbage to mask that I didn’t mash them enough. We were actually discussing ricers last night, @kate do you only rice them once with your gadget?
ICELAND! What an adventure, you’re going to have a fantastic time – I’ve never been but everyone I know that has been raves about it, it’s such a wild and interesting place.
Also I saw Deadpool last night with some friends and really enjoyed it, it’s funny. And that’s from someone who doesn’t usually like superhero movies much.
