My neck is feeling better…icing it helped I think! yay!
I’m excited to start my “diet” this weekend. I’m doing a modified whole 30 mostly to get off the sugar train (no added sugars and no dairy but I will eat oats and beans and if I have a bad flare up day with my Crohns then I’ll eat bread otherwise that is out too). So this weekend is going to be filled with planning and prepping for the week so I have no excuses to not do it.
The weather is dreary today – cloudy, snowy and cold. So I’m jealous about your beach weekend @thehizzy! Sounds fun!!
January 17, 2019 at 12:06 pm #816141I did something to the right side of my neck/shoulder Tuesday night. I did an upper body strength workout then as i was coming downstairs just turned my head and bam! Pain in my neck…I couldn’t turn my head left/right or move it any direction without shooting pain. Its finally better today but still hurts. I can at least move my head to the left almost normally and the right still has pain. But it also just hurts sitting here at my desk and I left my ibuprofen at home 🙁 Grrr…I don’t know how this happened.
January 15, 2019 at 2:51 pm #815824Loved your pics @Hizzy!
The same thing happens here (with grocery runs) in the snow and I live in Colorado…It’s not like they are not used to getting snow. Now in NW Arkansas snow was unusual so I can kind of understand it more there.
We made the long trip from here back home to Arkansas over the weekend. We left here on Thursday which was a good thing because everyone was getting hit with snow on Friday. And by the time we drove home Sunday the roads were clear though most of Kansas was covered. While back in AR we stayed with my brother and his fam one night and he came down with strep. Yay…and almost everyone was getting over some kind of cold or another. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed I don’t get sick. I’m just still exhausted from the drive on Sunday. 12 hours in the car!
Hope your not getting the flu @JD!
January 9, 2019 at 2:28 pm #815029Glad everything is turning out ok so far with learning about all that. That’s a lot to deal with! Hope everything goes well!
January 9, 2019 at 2:16 pm #815027Strep is going around the kids here (at least it usually doesn’t make it to the adults though I have had it as an adult and it’s miserable). At least it’s not that! Also, my nephew has the flu (diagnosed) even though he had the flu shot. Poor kid. And I am visiting family this weekend though I may have to skip this sisters house. I don’t want to get the flu!
January 8, 2019 at 2:36 pm #814911I’m thinking about trying it again too (though minus so many eggs like I mentioned before). But I have Crohns and to much fiber is actually hard for me to eat/not good for me to eat. Even though I have Crohns I am overweight 🙁 Probably because my meds are working and have been for about 1.5 years now. I tried the W30 a little over a year ago and all the fiber just pushed back my progress with Crohns. Sigh. So I’ll likely have to modify somewhat with easily digestible items – or at least cook all the veggies (some raw is ok but to much and oof, not good). But I tried on some dresses that fit just 2 years ago and they were way to tight to wear so i’ve got to do something!
January 7, 2019 at 6:01 pm #814816@Veritek – so glad the move went well for you guys…well except for your back, that sucks.
I never tried StitchFix since I asked a couple of friends who tried it and they also had terrible luck.
Back to work today. It has been slow and boring and likely will be until the regular semester of school starts back up again on the 21st.
January 6, 2019 at 6:09 pm #814678Just getting caught up reading as I’ve been off since the Friday before Christmas. I go back to work tomorrow 🙁 I’m not really ready.
@Copa – good luck with the Whole30! I’m considering doing that again after we celebrate my daughters birthday at the end of the month. But I’m not going to be as restrictive as I love oatmeal and cannot eat eggs everyday – just can’t do it (tried last time and failed miserably).
As for eye cream, I’ve been using IT eye cream and I like the feel of it. Don’t know if it really does anything for my eyes but I really do love the feel. And I’ve only been using it about 2 weeks. I mostly have eye bags really bad in the morning. And some wrinkles.
December 14, 2018 at 2:55 pm #812060Glad you could get into the fertility specialist JD. I can’t believe the appointment along cost that much!
As for meeting families, my FIL has 7 siblings who all have children and some of those children started having children. And so on and so forth. I finally know who belongs to who but it took years and sometimes I don’t remember names right off – we don’t see the extended family all that often.
My grandmother has 12 siblings and she is one of the oldest and the youngest is around my moms age (I think). I know I’ve met them all at least once but I never see them so I could run into one of them on the street and I wouldn’t know who they are. As a kid, we would see more of them more often and it was always overwhelming seeing everyone.
December 5, 2018 at 4:20 pm #811048Get better @theHizzy!
I agree – good knives are a must.
I also love my tea kettle if you like to have tea (or quick hot water for other things like hot cocoa or oatmeal)
Crock-pot. I like mine but don’t use it as often as I’d like. I also have a pressure cooker which I use maybe a couple times a year (and every year I say I’m going to use it more and I never do). Sometimes you just don’t know how much you’ll use something until you have it!December 5, 2018 at 1:19 pm #811016Where in CO did you live JD? (if you don’t mind sharing). I live in Colorado Springs. I keep thinking the same thing of the drivers here, except I think the Springs continues to have an influx of people moving here from all over, so maybe they don’t. Also, I thought they would also know how to take care of the roads better…they don’t. I remember thinking when I moved here that the snow is not new to them so why all the trouble getting roads plowed?!
