Drinking with Dear Wendy: Pomegranate Margaritas!
I’ll admit: my dorkiness is in full effect on this one, but don’t let that dissuade you from the drink itself. I made up the recipe and it’s pretty damn good if I do say so myself:
For two Pomegranate Margaritas
3 shots tequila
2 shots fresh lime juice (reserve two slices of lime to rim glasses)
1 shot triple sec
2 shots pomegranate juice
kosher salt
Fill cocktail mixer will ice, tequila, lime juice, trill sec, pomegranate juice. Take margarita glasses out of freezer, rim outside with lime slice and kosher salt. Mix the cocktail shaker and pour equally into glasses.
I say live on the wild side and don’t our int glassES, just pour into 1 glass 🙂
I might have to buy some tequila and make these this weekend. I love margaritas!!
Ah, you stole my joke! This is why I need to read entire threads before posting 🙂
I am definitely going to try those! Nothing grosses me out more than a margarita made with sweet and sour mix.
I love these videos! Those sound delicious. I hate when people make margaritas with a mix. I’m no bartender but even I know it’s just tequila, triple sec and lime. I’m making one of these bad boys tonight.
By the way, I love the cameo by Miles.
Dear Drinking with Dear Wendy,
Whenever I use my stainless steel drink mixer, the big lid gets stuck, so I can’t make new mixes (luckily the little lid doesn’t, so I can still strain and drink my current drink). How do I prevent the mixer from getting too cold/getting stuck so I can continue to make awesome drinks?
Thanks,
Stuck at only one drink
Stuck like it freezes? Pour a little room temperature water on it.
A lot of cocktail shakers freeze up when there’s a lot of pressure early on. You should probably back off, spend more time with your friends, and remember that this isn’t the only cocktail shaker in the world. The rest should come naturally, if it’s meant to be.
LOVE!
First off, I love your kitchen. Secondly, I love tequila.
I hate to be the one to point it out, but I think there’s a typo. You wrote “pour equally into glasses” when I think you mean “pour directly into mouth.”
I love these videos! And I love tequila, pomegranate juice, and limes, so yay!
Your next donation drive should consist of you auctioning off a Margarita Party with Wendy where one lucky reader can pay you to come visit them for a weekend and make them homemade margaritas. (Or three lucky readers named Bethany, No Pants, and LlamaPajamas.)
Best video. I especially enjoyed the hair flipping and margarita shaking. And now I must try Cha Cha Cha.
We just have a greek liquor guy. He’s cool. But he’s not Russian.
Yes! Hair looks great — perfect for sassy hair flipping!
I’ve been mixing drinks wrong my entire life. 🙁
For over 30 years, I have dreamt of catching a game ball at a Mets game. I’ve been to well over 100 games, my first with my dad at Shea. Today he took me and Lil…and she caught one!!!!!!!
Ha! She really is the luckiest kid.
Wendy, you’re the cutest!
Wendy you’re too cute, I like it when your dorkiness is in full effect 😉
Hahaha I just watched the video. So awesome! Wendy you’re the best.
Tonight I made Alaska raspberry margaritas. Mainly because after I made all the jam in the world, I forgot that I still had a bag of raspberries, so there has been a lot of raspberry cocktails in the merhousehold. And now, I am drunkpants.
Also, Wendy, you are adorable. I have this weird fascination with the idea of New York City. I’ve never been, and even though I’ve lived in lots of apartments, I think NYC apartments are really really interesting. I have a hard time imagining a place with such population density.
jake has made me some good raspberry cocktails… yes, in addition to not cooking my own food, i also dont pour my own drinks (oops). did you muddle the raspberries and then have chunks of raspberry in your drink? thats my favorite.
This is quite possibly the best thing that I have ever seen on Dear Wendy!
I love everything about this video! Definitely trying these as soon as I’m feeling better. I think we need more of these how tos…
And the hair is fab 🙂
