Yeah, I think Pi Day is March 14. I think that Pie Day can be any day, though – I’m very supportive of pies.

Ooops not sure what the heck I read to think it was Pi Day! But yes, PIE EVERYDAY!

I haven’t been on this thread in a while, but I’m happy to read about all the good updates!

@copa… “and not because he’s younger, but because he does things like cocaine” this made me laugh out loud, so thanks for that!

Omg, my young friend at work just told me he did cocaine, and won’t say he won’t do it again 🙁

@Cleopatra – I feel ya! The men I’ve been meeting the past 6 months or so have all had hectic work travel schedules, and it makes it hard to schedule dates and to maintain a connection. I don’t think it’s impossible to get a relationship off the ground with someone like that, but I have yet to be successful at it. So good luck!

And yeah, when I moved to my current city, I met a lot of people who do cocaine (like my 26 year old friend) and it’s like, “Am *I* the weird one for having no interest in this?” @Kate it doesn’t surprise me that someone who has tried it won’t say they won’t do it again — I’m told it’s a lot of fun. That may be the case, but it’s not at all my lifestyle, so for me it’s a dealbreaker. It is a bit frustrating, though, to be wanting and trying to meet someone but also to have a friend who I actually would otherwise date if our lifestyles were more similar.

@kmtthat, I saw that yesterday was National Pie Day (as opposed to Pi Day), so it is still a good excuse to eat pie 🙂

@Copa – It was a first date! We met on Bumble and our second date is tomorrow night! (And we also made plans for Saturday so assuming the second date goes well, third date on Saturday!) Also, no you’re not weird for not wanting to do cocaine. And that is a totally reasonable deal breaker IMO.

Kmtthat – HURRICANE MACHINE! It’s like a phone booth type thing and you put in a token and go inside and it simulates hurricane winds. The girl giving us the tour said it was great if you’ve been jumping on the trampolines and get really sweaty lol.

I also saw that yesterday was International Pie Day, so I guess there are two Pie/Pi days a year. Never too much pie.

So is everyone in their 20s doing cocaine now? I went on vacation with my husband and another couple. The girlfriend is younger than us and surprised me by saying she had tried cocaine (she barely drinks so it was weird). She said she looooved it and kept asking for more, but then she was like, wait, this is bad, I have to stop, and never did it again.

I’m 30, and cocaine use is pretty common among my peers. I personally don’t do cocaine, but I don’t find it particularly scandalous when others do. I wouldn’t exactly describe myself as wholesome, but I don’t think my friends and I are exceptionally wild or anything.

I’m certainly on the more wholesome side, but as far as I know, my friends/acquaintances don’t do cocaine (doesn’t mean they don’t do it, but if they do, I don’t know about it). On the other hand, pot use is pretty much all around and was the drug of choice in my high school.

I personally don’t know anyone that does cocaine. A couple of my friends have tried it during their drug experimenting phase, but none did it more than the one time. That said, there have been other, non-marijuana drugs that I have tried – ecstasy, mushrooms – in my early 20s. I tried ecstasy 4 times and the last time, I thought to myself as I popped the pill – who knows what’s actually in this…hope it doesn’t kill me! So yeah, that was the last time for that.

I should add that, you know, none of us are doing lines in the morning before work. It’s basically reserved for partying, which we are doing less and less frequently as we age.
