@ktfran I wonder when people are that vocal about the long hours they put in to get their jobs done, how much work they are actually doing during those hours. I work pretty efficiently and rarely need to log in on weekends. Yet lots of co-workers can’t seem to get by without it. Then I wonder, are you REALLY working that much or just thrive on the drama of it all…
@Copa, but it’s not high stress if you don’t want it to be! If we’re working on nearly the same project and she logs infinitely more hours, then she is doing something to make it harder on herself.
And @Lianne, you are correct. I think part of it is that some people thrive on drama… but that gets back to my original point. If she thrives on the drama of it all, it is her doing. So yes, she 100% is inviting this on herself.
Of course, some people are just unlucky. Or sometimes, crappy things happen.
@copa good for you! I have not been successful whatsoever lol. I’m really struggling with preparing meals.
Anyway, I just remembered a meal replacement shake that I actually like so I did that for breakfast this morning and it has definitely helped (so far haha).
I think I need to lose 15 lbs to be at the higher end of my comfortable weight range, although I’d settle for 10.
I wasn’t expecting to lose any weight at all this week because I lost a lot last week, and my dad was visiting this past weekend and we ate out a lot. So it was an exciting surprise to see I’m another pound closer to my goal.
@MissDre Meal prepping is a pain, but it’s worth it since I’m on-the-go for about 14 hours per day during the week. It’s particularly important for me to have healthy lunches ready to go. Luckily, I can eat the same thing for lunch for long periods of time without getting bored. I’ve been making my own taco bowls a lot the past few weeks with brown rice, turkey taco meat, veggies, and pico de gallo, and it takes me maybe an hour tops to cook everything, then another 5-10 minutes to portion it all out. I’ve been pretty consistent in weighing and measuring everything I eat at home lately, too, which is also a pain, but also important/useful. I think I’m going to make a breakfast casserole for the upcoming week to save some time in the mornings, too.lucia_laAugust 2, 2017 at 4:17 pm #695921@copa nice job! I was super all about the weight loss train for about a year, but have recently let too many trips get me off track. Getting back on it this week though! I have over 400 days logged on MFP but recently I have been on trips and just indiscriminately log, like “2000 calories” just to keep the streak. But I’m going on a rafting trip in ten days so trying to use that as motivation!
TheLadyEAugust 4, 2017 at 11:17 am #696199Anyone doing anything fun this weekend?
My boyfriend is out of town so I’m going to dinner with some girlfriends on Saturday, and Sunday night is an activism gathering/event for people of faith that my boyfriend shared with me that’ll be my first dip into these types of events other than with him. I’m excited!
Other than that, I have got to get back to the gym and really work on fitness. I had a donut for breakfast and now I feel horrible. I don’t really eat much sugar and the sugar high made me all jittery (combined with the iced coffee I had, too). Ugh.
I’m going to dinner and a show tonight with some girl friends. I’m hoping to get my half marathon training run out of the way tomorrow morning before my hair appointment.
I’m possibly going on a first date tomorrow afternoon, but that’s still up in the air. This guy told me he’s brand new to online dating, and last night we were texting a little bit and it was like we’d be having a fairly typical conversation and he’d say something that immediately made things feel awkward. Nothing egregious, just small things. And it made me wonder if he’s kind of a socially awkward dude IRL. I’ll maybe find out soon!
I might be going to brunch with a friend on Sunday, but tbh, I am hoping it doesn’t pan out. I had to work last Saturday and had my dad visiting, and was looking forward to a lot of down time.
I’m going to a much-awaited brunch with my best friend that just returned from France. This will be a french-kind of british themed brunch, complete with Mimosas and everything to welcome her and also, to say good bye to a new friend we made this year that is leaving for the UK. I can’t wait.
