    @K, Portland is definitely on my shortlist! I think by August I’ll be ready for break from the swampy Southern summer.

    @Veritek I don’t mean to be a creep but I’m so happy for you. Like genuinely happy you’re doing so good.
    My therapy session yesterday lasted four hours! Four hours talking that felt like five minutes.

    @shakeourtree we were there last summer and did Mt. Rainier, Portland, the Oregon coast, and Bend. And we got to see the total solar eclipse. Oregon is wonderful overall. Dry heat and no sales tax are just 2 bonuses!

    @MaterialsGirl I went to School in NS, there are some pretty cool breweries there! I visited one before coming back to Ontario called Big Spruce in Cape Breton. Super cool, really small, literal microbrewery. But they make one of THE best stouts, Cereal Killer. Highly recommend. Also CB is just gorgeous!

    If you in Halifax at all during your trip I can recommend a couple cool places 🙂

    I miss the PNW. My husband and I met in Bend. I loved there for about 6 years in my early 20s. Then Seattle. Both the OR coast and the WA coast, Rainier, the Olympic Peninsula and the San Juan islands were our frequent mini trips. We’re pretty outdoorsy.
    Side note, I can’t believe it was in the 90s on the east coast today (Philly.)

    @hfantods to answer your question, we talk everyday. Usually via text, sometimes he’ll call me when I’m driving home from work since I commute and drive more now. Usually nothing substantial just talking through our days. It’s nice. I know that Monday night is game night for him and he knows I’m usually at crossfit at a certain time each evening so we’ll check in before and after those things just to say hi.

    @Ale
    – thank you 🙂 You are not a creep, I’m rooting for you too. Nothing is perfect but I’m very happy right now. And I’m glad you got some good therapy!

    @Cleopatra: we will be in halifax for a day or two, so yes please! we are spending some more time in Cape Brenton area because we’re staying at the distillery for a few days. Will definitely check out the brewery! Also spending two days in Fundy Park.

    @MaterialsGirl, awesome! Halifax is really a neat city. Very small but it has great charm to it. I suggest for places to eat Lower Deck on the waterfront (a cool place to walk during the day as well, there is a small plaza in the old buildings. Also great live band on the Friday/weekends!), Wooden Monkey (more geared towards vegetarian far, but still really good food!), The Maxwells Plum has a huge selection of beers on tap (including Big Spruce brews! You can taste them there before heading to CB), Sweet Hereafter Cheesecake factory makes homemade cheesecakes (they are out of downtown, but still a quick walk away about 20 min on Quinpool road in a black brick building), Dee Dees ice cream across from the Commons on the NE side makes homemade ice cream and some really cool flavours, and then Stillwell downtown on Barrington. Notable mention, the farmers market on the waterfront. If you are in on a weekend, definitely go (there may be a stall that sells lobster rolls, so tasty, best I have had compared to the tourist traps I have seen), and then all the great stalls and the great building the market is in.

    So I told the guy I loved him yesterday…! He said those words to me around Christmas and I wasn’t ready to say it back. He didn’t bring it up at all after that and there was no pressure or anything. I know I wrote here in the beginning of my reservations but over time those have faded. I thought about saying those words in the last month but I didn’t know how to say it or when. He said it last night at a perfect quiet moment and I said it back. Now I’m all distracted at work! Anyway I just wanted to give you a quick update since I’ve periodically written in here these past eight months and I’ve been following this thread since the beginning!

    @Copa We have been messaging back and forth – once it took him several days to message back and I thought it was over, but then he wrote me back several paragraphs. THEN he went to Morocco for a yoga/mindfulness retreat and just got back, so I’m giving him a few days and then I’m going to write back again. I think I’m at the point where I’m ready to ask if he wants to meet for coffee and move this forward (or not, if that’s the case). Thanks for asking! 🙂

    And @hfantods That’s so exciting! Congratulations! I’m so happy for you and glad your reservations have subsided. Best of luck!
