I felt it was frumpy too for a lot of it. I have three things I have kept from all my tries. A pair of jeans I could have easily found and bought myself but hey they sent them, a top and a sweater. Grrr. I might keep one sweater. I actually haven’t received my box yet but it shipped and once it ships you can see what they sent, but we will see once I try it on. The rest I know I won’t keep just based on the pics, no matter what.

@Copa, I would say don’t do it if the clothes you need for your trip are out of season with US. They told me when I challenged them on wtf they sent me, that they had very limited summer clothes in stock.

I ended up finding an awesome dress in a surf shop at the mall in Cabo. Something like I’d never seen but it was super cute. That’s the kind of shit I want from StitchFix!

I used to use Stitchfix when I knew a stylist there. She would send me great pieces. She stopped doing it and my next couple boxes were awful. I stopped them a couple years ago.

I used to belong to a subscription box for gym items. I really liked them and got some killer deals. I just decided to stop them to save money.

I might be one of the few that’s had pretty good luck with Stitch Fix – I’m actually wearing a blazer I got from them today. Though, I do request the same stylist every time because once I found a great one I felt that she really understood what I wanted. Although, I’m not super hard to please so I like trying things that I wouldn’t normally buy.

On the subject of shopping, has anyone seen any cute maxi dresses worthy of a wine country wedding? (Or a shorter dress, for that matter, but for some reason I feel like a long dress this time.)

ETA: RTR is out for this wedding because I’ll be out of the country for like two weeks, and I believe that exceeds rental periods.

RTR unlimited for one month and get 4 pieces for your trip? I did that for our cruise last year.

My silk dress, it’s a midi, from Cuyana is a dream. That might be a good option? I’ve worn it in super hot weather and no sweat marks. I have it in rust.

Norstrom is usually my go-to shop for dresses though.

Wait, whaaat!? Had no idea that was an option with RTR! I’ll have to look into that. Might work well since I also want a couple casual dresses for when I’m in Cape Town, which will be very warm next month.

And you get it at a discount your first month. So do it, then cancel as soon as you get back!!!!! It was super handy.

@Veritek – so glad the move went well for you guys…well except for your back, that sucks.

I never tried StitchFix since I asked a couple of friends who tried it and they also had terrible luck.

Back to work today. It has been slow and boring and likely will be until the regular semester of school starts back up again on the 21st.

Did you guys read the article about RTR that if an item gets lost only the renter is responsible up to 300%?

@TheHizzy It’s in the fine print/agreement terms. One of my friends had some kind of shipping issue and RTR charged her as they said they would. She tried to fight it but I don’t recall the outcome. I’ve had really good experiences with their customer service. I pick up dresses at their brick & mortar store and one time accidentally had mine shipped to their NYC store. They overnighted it to Chicago for me at not cost even though it was my error.
