@veritek very pretty! I have had a number of acquaintances and friends get engaged over the past year, all have had vastly different ring styles and gems (diamond, morganite, sapphire…). Always interesting to see the diversity and that people are going out of the norm to make their rings unique to them.
I was chatting casually with my BF about rings, and asked if he would ever wear one, he is a nope (my dad never wore his, if he ever even had one..). Does your guy intend to have one?
TheHizzyJanuary 24, 2019 at 8:06 am #821897FMH tells me he’s so excited to wear his. He has been married before and he says he loved wearing it to show that he loves someone enough to marry them.
After the wedding I plan on putting my e-ring in a box and wearing it on occasion and wearing my wedding band daily. I kinda can’t wait. I didn’t realize how bulky I’d think my ring was. It’s even a lower profile one too!
January 24, 2019 at 9:01 am #821900haha I am a big ring person, I have lots of casual ones I try to wear around work. So if and when that time comes for me I would be happy to have something that has more sentiment than the ones I currently own. I am personally not interested in a big wedding or elaborate celebration, but I do want a ring to symbolize the commitment.
My husband likes wearing his ring and really likes me wearing mine. He actually left it on the bathroom counter once and text me about it since he was bummed. I then had it resized since even though that should have been the right size he had taken it off since it was slipping a bit. He hasn’t taken it off since. I for sure prefer him wearing it. I am pretty old fashioned and traditional when it comes to marriage so I guess it just makes me happy. I remember the day after we got married we were at a restaurant and I was just staring at his hands, more specifically ring, and smiling.
The best was when he first took me to one of his pool events (I had never been before) and some guy got all angry at him for messing around with a married chick since they obviously saw my ring….but clearly didn’t bother to notice his. People are ridiculous. They weren’t aware we got married because he really barely knew the guy who was all offended so why would we be telling a near stranger.
KateJanuary 24, 2019 at 9:14 am #821906My husband’s ring fell off last year when the weather got colder. He knew it was somewhere in front of his clubhouse but looked forever and couldn’t find it in the gravel driveway. He had already ordered another one when his friend found it a week later in the driveway as good as new! So he canceled the other one. I think it’s made of Tungsten, I mention that because it must have been run over but you def couldn’t tell.
TheHizzyJanuary 24, 2019 at 10:01 am #821914I have some casual rings I wear time to time, but none have stones. They are all pretty plain. Which is why it’s so funny I picked such a intricate engagement ring. I still love it, it’s the most beautiful piece of jewelry I own.
I don’t remember what metal FMH’s ring is, we bought it not too soon after we got engaged because it was on mega sale. I was shocked how heavy of a ring it is that he liked. For me, the lighter the better. I want to feel like I’m wearing nothing!
TheHizzyJanuary 24, 2019 at 10:14 am #821916I get emails from Wedding Wire and I got this link for an article and I find so alarming. Don’t go into debt for your wedding folks!! Same cousin was still paying off wedding when they were getting divorced.

I’m not a huge jewelry person and pretty much never wear rings. I love checking out friends’ rings when they get engaged — they’re always beautiful no matter the cut/stone and I like to hear the stories behind the rings. I’d want some kind of ring if I ever get engaged/married, but can see myself opting not to wear it a fair amount (or simply forgetting).
Also, I went out last night with BG, one of his buddies, and one of my college buddies. Another friend came out to meet us later in the night with a guy she was on a second date with and I truly have never hated anyone as fast as I hated her date. He was so obnoxious! I’m truly shocked she went out with him more than once. If I’d met him through an online dating app, I would’ve chugged my drink and bolted. (If I’d met him IRL, as my friend did, would have never gone out with him period.)
